Yeah she retaliated. I hear ya but I'm sure Bobby didn't start off like that, thats how they get you. That ish aint no joke so I'm not gonna brush it off b/c she was famous and had the upperhand financially. He picked the best time to use her money on other women, verbally and physically abuse her.

Her life is a cautionary tale for women who elect to stay in abusive relationships. I remember my initial shock when I heard they were an item. Of all the guys she could've dated and married...

There's a saying that says that women who have been around abuse their whole lives will pick someone who was similar. Whitney possibly had daddy issues. I know she said she and John were close but something about John Houston doesn't ring true to me.

They treat you decent in the beginning, you get sucked in & boom. Now you got a kid and married to some clown. Bobby didn't want to leave(and why would he, he was living the life). Whitney didn't want to admit she made a mistake in choosing him...she admitted she was trying to prove they could make it. She did love him regardless they say thats powerful and blinding.

[Edited 2/22/12 15:13pm]

Love is blind. It sure blinded Whitney for 15 years. I remember after that incident ID talked about in 2003 how the very next week or so she was with Bobby and they were acting like things were lovely.

Keeping up appearances. Typical. Problem was Krissy was getting older and Whitney knew it couldn't go on. She wanted it to work, IDK why but I admire her dedication even though he didn't deserve it.

To be honest, both of them shouldn't have been together. Not because they weren't a match but because they were too toxic for each other. Both of their families had addiction problems.

IDK about their fam's histories BUT those two should've been married to other people. Bobby needed a shadow and Whitney needed a stand up successful guy.

Roger that! Not that Bobby wasn't successful but he just wasn't what Nippy needed or what would have benefited her and been good for her as a woman. He just aint the kind of dude you marry.

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

Yeah I don't know why Whitney thought Bobby was marriage material. She has as much to blame. She claimed she wanted a man that was aggressive like that.

Somebody to reel her in if needed and be a provider and protector. Strong, dignified & assertive in those fields. They take care of business, build you up not wild out. Even with her success, she still needed/wanted that...most women do. You listen to and do better by someone you respect. Like a Stedman Graham type. IF not a better equal than atleast someone to play his position. Bobby didn't need to be with someone who is so large. I used to sympathize b/c I hear its hard for guys to not even be close to the front-runner. But he didn't play his position so I stopped going poor Bobby.

Whitney was better off by herself. Being as famous as she was, I doubt no one would've really been there especially if she was broke. Money can make you do anything.

Cissy's Letter To Whitney: "The Holy Spirit Told Me You Wouldn't Be With Us Long"

Feb 22, 2012

On Saturday, the homegoing service for Whitney Houston took place in Newark, N.J. Tributes and parting words were shared in the live-TV broadcast ceremony that lasted over two hours.

And in addition to catching a glimpse of the private Whitney (via words from close friends and family), the public also gets a glimpse of the fallen star from a letter that her mother, Cissy, penned w/in her obituary.

In the touching letter to her daughter, Cissy explains that she knew that Whitney would not be “with us long” and that on the day that Whitney had passed, she believed that she (Cissy) had received signs.

Yeah I know. Randall wanted some, Jermaine wanted some, Eddie wanted some, DeNiro wanted some... I don't know, it's weird what happens when you're a celebrity. I don't know if life would've been easier with them around. That's just me.

I kept reading about that spirits will let you know if someone was going to go "Home", not usually by knocks on the door but they would see signs. I think I had seen spirits as a child whenever I "felt" something. My mother told me once that I came to her and dad and asked "did someone in my family die?" And they were like "no we didn't". I went back outside and then a few minutes later, the phone rang saying my paternal grandmother had died. I still don't know how that occurred but maybe that's what Cissy was feeling. It's interesting to note that Cissy was depressed two months BEFORE Whitney's death. confused

It was in the rumor mill briefly around the time Whitney put out I'm Your Baby Tonight. Apparently Whitney and Robert were supposed to be in a movie together (which turned out to be The Bodyguard) but Robert backed out and Kevin took his place. I think some rumor mills were saying Robert thought Whitney was one of the most gorgeous women he had ever seen and we know he only prefers black women. lol

Lewis Black Criticizes Media Coverage Of Whitney Houston’s Death

[img:$uid]http://beatcrave.frsucrave.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/lewis-black-la-2-21-12.jpg[/img:$uid]

Last night, comedian Lewis Black stopped by “The Daily Show”, and slammed the media for the way they handled Whitney Houston‘s death. He called out CNN‘s (and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant) Nancy Grace for her wild speculations, and Fox News‘ Eric Boiling for criticizing and comparing California Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters to Houston. To Black, everyone covering the singer’s death were a bunch of “a**holes”.

It seemed like Black yearned for a time when covering the death of famous person was treated with some respect. He said:

“Can we cool it with the wordplay? When Cronkite announced the death of JFK, it wan’t with a clever ‘Ask not, who got shot in Dallas today!”

He also presented a montage of various news anchors making unnecessary and awkward references to Houston’s work, criticizing their ability to use up every part of the tragedy for their segments.

One of the other things that outraged Black was Nancy Grace’s wild speculation that suggested Houston had been thrown in the pool, even though there was hard evidence that she died from years of drug addiction.

Black also mentioned Eric Boiling who took advantage of Houston’s death to send a message to congresswoman Maxine Waters by saying, “step away from the crack pipe”. Black said:

“Well, there you have it! A beloved pop icon’s death used to criticize the Democrats’ choice for the banking committee!”

Black does make a good point. Whenever an icon dies, the media squeeze out every bit of the tragedy and leave us exhausted. It’s 2012, and the media still isn’t done covering Michael Jackson‘s death.

Do you agree with Black?

Hmmm! Trying to think if he was single then. I'm not against it or saying she couldn't have gotten him...if someone like Elton went on about her in the looks dept...than DeNiro couldn't have been any different...I just never heard it till now. LoL at the last sentence, had me thinking of Paul Mooney's joke.

I also read that her dedication was part of the reason that she and Bobby moved to Atlanta. Here she is with a man her family dosen't really like, and moving away from her support system in NJ must have been hard on her mother. During the early 2000's Bobby's ass stayed in the news for various reasons. I remember "Being Bobby Brown" filmed one of his court cases.

Aunt Viv (Janet Hubert) to Wendy: "You crucified Whitney!"

[img:$uid]http://cdn.eurweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/janet_hubert2012-med-wide.jpg[/img:$uid]

Janet Hubert

Dear Wendy,

This past weekend was a very difficult time for so many of us.

Though I never knew Whitney Houston, I felt a profound sense of loss and sadness. On Sunday morning I took my dog for a walk in the park across the street and still could not shake the sadness I felt. I wondered if what I was feeling was perhaps related to losing my mother and brother this past year, but then I thought no, it was something else.

I watched the funeral service with the rest of the world, and cried time and time again with each story that was told. I felt like I knew more about this amazing woman than ever before. We all watched her as a little girl, center stage, singing like a bird, she was destined for superstardom. To watch her center stage full circle in death was a feeling no mother should ever have to feel. I applaud Ms. Warwick, the pastor, and all others who formed a police line of love and protection around her that was impenetrable only to those who really knew her. We, the public accepted their decision to keep it private, but they allowed us to witness her Home Going ceremony, I don’t know if I could have been so gracious. WE felt like we knew her and we knew nothing about her except what we read and hear from people like you and other media outlets. I listened to her interview with you and was compelled to say out loud. “Go on Whitney tell her like it is,” when you pried into her life back then. I had my son in the same year as Ms. Houston; we did Ebony Magazine that same year, she introducing her baby girl and me my son. I am trying to be dignified, but here goes.

The Internet has become somewhat like the 10 commandments, and this is why… whatever is posted or commented on… is forever written in stone. Neither I nor anybody can stop anyone from making up stories, reviews, lies etc, cutting and pasting whatever they decide to put together like a bad buffet breakfast.

I have had some horrible meals shoved down my throat on the web that I had no parts of.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth from a recent cut and paste meal from your beloved TMZ (THE MUDSLINGING ZONE). I believe you said once “If you heard it on TMZ then it must be true,” really Wendy?

The Internet is indeed the information highway, but it can also be “a Forum of Hate.”

[img:$uid]http://cdn.eurweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/whitneywendy2012-wide.jpg[/img:$uid]

You said that morning with tears in your eyes, that you would not discuss Whitney any further, but you crucified her the whole time she was alive, as you do so many people on your show. I want to ask you why? What do you get out of this besides money?

How do you sleep at night knowing that you are one of the biggest bullies in the world disguised as HOT TOPICS? Celebrities are not topics we are people, just like everyone else, we hurt and we hear and we bleed real blood, not fake blood, just as you do.

How do we as parents teach our children to honor each other, treat each other with kindness when all they see are images of people like you who condone and promote meanness, rude reality TV stars, and your opinion as you berate world renowned people like Janet Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and others you slam on a daily basis.

I keep asking myself why no one is saying anything about this. What the hell are they afraid of? Where are my sisters out there who feel as I do?

Well Wendy, I try to teach my son to stand up, shout, and scream when there is injustice. Yeah yeah, I know, I have been screaming for years and will continue to do so as long as there are images that depict black women as neck shaking, over bearing women whocan’t get along.

A sister, a mother, a daughter, a star, left this world way too early; she was loved by the world. The world mourned, I don’t think that we needed you to try and take down another brilliant sister on that following Monday morning. (Your rude comments about Janet Jackson)

You started right back up without hesitation or pause… you need to stop Wendy. We need to stop, and the world needs to stop. I need to stop as well. There will be no more quotes from me to be misquoted. We need to join together, wrap our arms around our children, everybody’s children. Remember you have a child who will suffer every slingshot and arrow that gets thrown back at you Wendy; our public lives greatly affect our children.

I know I am going to suffer some arrows for writing this letter to you, I know you are loved by many, but remember this Wendy; they love you when you are up and they love to take you down. You will not always be up, you will not always be on the A list and attend all the parties. Ride the wave sister girl, but make sure you know how to swim when the ride is over. Artists are survivors, we work hard to build our crafts and careers and I ask that you simply remember that in the future.

I’m just sayin’ it like l mean it too.

Janet Hubert
