Sidenote: That photo of those three women is HILARIOUS. Sorry I didn't watch the Super Bowl (don't have tv channels or like sports). Take a look at it for a long second. You can't buy that kind of funny. |

The single has actually collapsed and its doing very badly in the airplay. Despite her record label clear channel doing such a massive promotion the airplay has just killed the single.
The digital downloads helped this song but the digital download formula currently helps songs which dont do well in airplay i am sure billboard will revise this formula soon |

I knew the airplay would drastically decrease. She's old and people don't like to hear old singers on the radio. This will likely be the only hit off the album. I'm sure the other singles will be huge flops like the 2nd and 3rd singles off Hard Candy. Oh well! "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu |

This song is a failure in the world, because it's just obscenely weak. if the song was at least average, it would have got at least the Top 5 in the U.S., and in the top 3 in all other major markets around the world.
I think the next single will be a lot better in the charts
Girls gone wild is actually a decent song |

Lol? Did Ringo and George even have any? I know John and Paul definitely had a good bit.
Different situations though. The Beatles kind of all made eachother, they wrote lyrics and music and played instruments. I think you remove any one of the 4 from the equation and it's just not the same.
The Jackson 5/Jacksons were more studio backed by the Motown machine and later on Gamble and Huff.
I just think they should count for the simple fact that Michael Jackson was the entire Jackson 5/Jacksons. If Michael was never born and they had 8 kids instead of 9, the Jacksons would still be living in Gary, Indiana right now. That group was literally nothing without Michael Jackson.
Yeah all of the ex-Beatles had number-one hits and top ten singles after leaving the group in the early '70s.
Paul's top ten hits/number-one's:
"Another Day"
"Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" "Coming Up"
"Ebony & Ivory"
"Take It Away"
"The Girl is Mine"
"Say Say Say"
"No More Lonely Nights"
"Spies Like Us"
And that doesn't even include Wings
Silly Love Songs, Listen to What the Man Said, My Love, Live & Let Die, etc, etc (they had 14 according to Wiki) [Edited 2/16/12 10:39am] |

There were 10. Marlon had a twin named Brandon who died. There is also a half sister named Joh'Vonnie. So that's 11. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton |

27 -- Janet Jackson
27 -- Elton John
25 -- Elvis Presley (whose career predates the chart's Aug. 4, 1958, inception)

Jealousy is a powerful drug, amigo.
Then again, if the celebrities I hate (Julia Roberts, tom Hanks, Angelina, etc) stayed on top forever, I'd be a mad bitch too. [Edited 2/16/12 12:40pm] I'll leave it alone babe...just be me |

Very, very much doubt .... But Mariah has 18 number 1 hits, it is more honorable. ----------------------- Why did not anyone comment on an excerpt from the new song? This is discussed in some topic? |

The bitterness in their tone when Madonna proves, for the bizzillionth time, that they have been unsuccessful in hating her away is pure gold. Truth be told, I don't much like GMAYL, but I still adore that it went top 10. Whether or not it's a good song is pure conjecture…its chart position, though, isn't.

It's truly hilarious, but people have been hating on Madonna and calling her music trash ever since the days of "Lucky Star" and "Like a Virgin".
I think she's had the last laugh
As for the song, I think it's OK - - a fun, upbeat pop track. Sounds good in the club, got a fun vibe to it. |

I know, right. Don't they have a lip sync and disposable American Idol performance to brag about being #1 on iTunes for 24 hours, or something? Madonna just scored her 38th top 10 hit, and her album and [stadium] tour are selling out months before they're unleashed…yet certain fans of Janet (who is playing theaters, hasn't had a top 10 hit in 11 years and is currently without a record deal) still have the audacity to try and come around and be cocky about her. Odd.
Funny how I don't see fans of someone like Celine Dion, who is much much closer to Madonna in overall career stats, bothering to do the same. That would make sense. But Janet? Nah. |

She tends to do that, doesn't she? Madonna always comes back with a proverbial punch in the face to the shit-talking naysayers. They attempt to question her talent and write her off...and BAM: another top 10 hit...BAM: most watched Superbowl performance in history...BAM: inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...BAM: another record breaking tour...BAM: a record and touring contract worth a combined $160 million.
If I were a Madonna detractor, I would just hush at this point because she proves over and over that she's a tough adversary to have. [Edited 2/16/12 13:18pm] |
