Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

The longer they wait the less people will be excited to see it, the mourning phase will be long over.

this movie is a remake of a cult-classic. people were always going to want to see it, black people, anyway. it was going to be a hit, and now it will be an even bigger one.

This movie was going to be a hit for Whitney before her passing. Interest was already high and buzz was building. this was seen as her comeback regardless if she had a supporting role. Nobody really was hyped to see Jordin Sparks or the other actresseses

Now with her passing, this movie will do even better and perhaps may even cross over.

BTW, she looks beautiful in that clip and she sounds amazing,

The studio absolutely will continue to use her image and legacy to market this film,

I'll go see it just to hear Whitney sing His Eye Is On The Sparrow.

I liked the original movie a lot. I wasn't really gonna check out the new one, but now that they have Whitney singing some gospel I will.

Also, Bishop T D Jakes said they wanted Whitney to sing another gospel song but she was adament about singing 'eye on sparrow'. She sang a powerful bit on her tour and then segwayed into an amazing rendition of 'i love the lord'.

Every night on that tour, she praised God and sang at least one and sometimes 2 gospel songs not including ' I look to you' and she never sung the songs the same.

I can't help but thinking from 2009 to now, God was taking her places ups and downs and she still praised him culminating in this legacy project in which she plays a born again r&b singer, choir director who wanted the best for her children and who raised them with christian values.

Almost like she came full circle. Amazing to go back and listen to 'I Look to You' which is pretty much an autobiographical song that R Kelly wrote specifically for her.

My God works in mysterious ways and it really seems as if Whitney came full circle and this to be a fitting farewell to one of the world's most talented vocalists. I can't wait to see this and Whitney sounded AMAZING with her new voice. Dare I say the best I've heard her sing since 2002. Her voice was sure and not shaky and she hit each note that she was aiming for with the same conviction she did during her glory days. eek sad wink

It just seems so..crazy. She had all these future projects coming up and then she's dead all of a sudden.

I remember my friend texted me "did you hear Whitney died?" and I didn't believe her because it didn't make any sense. She was in LA for a party and was supposed to be back in the studio the following week. Then I turned it on CNN and it was true..

I did't even cry for MJ because I'm not that big of a fan, but Whitney was the queen, she was MY queen.

The. Fucking. Voice. That clip proves it. I'm definately going to see Sparkle on opening day. It's the last thing I can give Whitney.

*hugs* OMG I thought I was the only one who felt like that here. I haven't seen MJ give a good performance since the 1996 VMA's and I can't tell you the last time I heard him sing live and actually sound good. I'm a fan of his early 80's stuff so he wasn't dear to my heart. Whitney, on the otherhand, just gave you vocal excellence and I was really pulling for her to beat those demons and comeback triumphantly like her character seem to dictate. I mean even on Just Whitney and her Christmas album, she gave us VOCALS!!! Anyways I'm not gonna dwell there, she's singing lead in the choir of Angels in Heaven and I know she sounds better than we EVER heard her. wink
