I believe this is the first time since the late 1980's that Brian Wilson has performed with the Beach Boys. He was going through a lot of health and psychological crises during the 1990's, but he finally cleaned himself up around 2000 and moved to the far western suburbs of Chicago. He didn't perform again until the Smile sessions were finally released around 2005. So I believe this is the first time he's performed since then.

BTW, the Beach Boys have been around for nearly 50 years, so the remaining members are pushing 70. (A few other members have died over the years.)
