Nope.

Both of Mama's Gun and D's Voodoo need the Deluxe Edition treatment, in full effect.

New Editon - Heartbreak

[Edited 12/31/11 16:51pm]

Labelle's Epic Records releases from 1974-1976 were released back in 2009 on an excellent 2-disc compilation (Nightbirds and Phoenix is on the first disc while Chameleon is on the second disc on its own.)

Earth, Wind & Fire's entire Columbia Records era has been reissued and remastered, but I would like their Warner-era stuff to get deluxe treatment by Wounded Bird or Rhino. Touch The World, Heritage, and Milleninum are the only ones I don't have along with their first two Warners albums.

Aside from that, I'm kinda glad that the Columbia Remasters collection didn't get a wide release because the main albums (1974-1979) were remastered back in 1999 and were excellent. Plus, when someone scanned the package, it didn't look appealing.

Hmm... So I should just be looking at the re-issues from 1999 at a decent price then. The thing that appealed to me about the bundle on Amazon was not the packaging but the great price for all of those albums which I don't currently have on CD.

Yes. That is the best alternative at this point. You will find most of their albums at bang-up prices new or used. The Columbia Masters package just seemed so incomplete and redundant. I haven't really heard anything about sound on that collection, but the 1999 remasters are just excellent with superior sound and liners. Plus, the bonus tracks were stellar.

You also have these sets (hint, hint)... lol

No problem! You just have to look around. Various reissue labels seem to be reissuing EW&F stuff left to right. I just got a 2-for-1 disc of the Last Days And Time/Head To The Sky albums for Christmas and it knocked me out.

Yeah, I really need to jump on these albums I haven't heard since the seventies on vinyl. lol All I have on CD right now are the two greatest hits CDs and I Am. Not nearly enough EW&F for me! biggrin

I would LOVE to see the following released on CD and fully remastered:

Linda Clifford "I'm Yours" 1980 Capitol

Donna Washington "Going for the Glow" 1981 Capitol

The McCrary's "All Night Music" 1982 Capitol

The Quick "One Light in A Blackout" 1982 Epic/CBS

Sun "Let There Be Sun" 1982 Capitol smile

Rose Royce "Fresh Cut" 1986 Omni/Atlantic

Donna Washington is an aMAZING vocalist! God, her career went absolutely nowhere back then. It's sad. She's phenomenally gifted.

Just scored EWF's "The Eternal Dance" for $7.00! That, along with the box sets you recommended make me a very happy camper as far as collecting the EWF albums and rareties I wanted! cool
