Premiering Monday, February 6. Here's another artist that I've greatly admired but, other than thru her music, I never knew much about her personal life and the struggles she faced during her career. Next to the Vesta episode, this is my most anticipated Unsung episode of the season!

I remeber being introduced to Millie's music back in the day by my Aunt. Every weekend after my Aunt & Uncle got off work they would be cooking up a storm & drinking good liquor & rocking good music. My Aunt used to rock the shit out of this Millie Jam.

On "Back To the Shit", she tells the audience that she had out a clean album ("The Tide Is Turning") before this one and she could look at the sells and tell that's not what the public wanted to hear from her. She was begging the DJ's to play the songs from "Tide". She said the DJ's won't have to worry about "Back To the Shit" b/c there was nothing they would be able to play off that one. They can give that airtime to some other Jackson.

Millie had some nice songs on "The Tide Is Turning". Actually, this was the album that turned me on to her in '88. "Something You Can Feel" (produced by Gerald Levert) was the very first Millie song I can ever recall hearing being played on the radio.

This is the episode that I am most looking forward to.I've been a Millie Jackson fan since the late 70s.She's outrageous! Can't wait to see what her life story is all about.

I love Millie, can't wait to see this. "If Lovin' You Is Wrong" is one of my favorite songs ever. My favorite album is definitely Caught Up. She is performing here tonight in Chicago, but can't go see her, this time.

My exposure to Millie's music came from my parents, and yes I was aware that she made some songs and albums not ready for the radio like Live and Uncensored and For Men Only. One of the songs that my mother played alot was If You're Not Back In Love By Monday. I'm looking forward to finding out about her since I knew next to nothing about her while growing up.

I'm really surprised no one has officially released this concert or a show from that time period on DVD. I don't know what her shows are like these days, but, back in the day, no one could touch Millie's live shows.

Same here.One day in 1979,I found one of my father's 8-track tapes.It was Millie's A Moment's Pleasure album.I wasn't supposed to listen to it,but I did and I thought it was amazing! LOL

This is a great episode so far...I love this woman because she has a great personality and a very distinctive voice.

I think she has the biggest mouth I've ever seen on a person though.

She was always very underrated and I hope this episode gives her career a boost.
