Yup.
Since LiveNation is her actual label, and interscope is just a distrubtion contract... LiveNation is giving away the cd because they can and has little to nothing to do with Prince
But why? If her fans are gonna buy it, that won't make sense to give it up for free. |

only the gays and the people just getting into Madonna will have it... most of the people who go to the show haven't bought a Madonna album in ages.. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

This is what I don't get. Okay, you're a fan of an artist but you don't buy their latest album? |

It never got over a million, I think over 800,000 bought it. Guessing the promotion sucked after "4 Minutes" and the R&R Hall of Fame induction thing didn't help matters. |

I'll tell you what else didn't help. Not releasing Beat Goes On. People would have paid attention to that amazing beat and Kanye West! It would have brought the album to 1.5 in the US. |

Madonna is apparently "giving away" a physical or digital copy of her new album MDNA for each US ticket purchaser of her upcoming tour. Shoulda went Confessions-like and went it alone. Looks VERY desperate to employ Nicki Minaj & M.I.A to attempt to be relevant. NOt even those two could help Miss Misery (she is looking quite miserable these days) Not to mention, if that wasn't enough desperation, adding LMFAO and Cee-Lo to her Superbowl meltdown. Did I mention these artists are pretty much all on Interscope ? Thats not only bigtime desperate, but hella rigged from the inside out. Ugly
Damn Madonna, you cold busted
What's with the hate?
Looking miserable? come on now, you know that's not true.
Besides, the give-aways will not chart, what's ugly about her action?
Not hating on Madonna. Just really calling her out on her desperation and inability to stand alone as an artist without being propped up by whomever is currently ruling the charts. I like many things Madonna has done, so I have nothing personal against her. I just think she would have fared so mych better to deliver a Madonna record and stop trying to appropriate everyone elses flavor of the moment... Hard Candy could have been much bigger with releasing "She's Not Me" which is very Chic/Nile Rogers, or "Incredible". A lot of her problems may stem from working with people who don't make the right decisions when it comes to A & R and proper promotion. Madonna really blew it with her superbowl performance as well. Very lackluster. Madonna needs new team members or she needs a new team. Warner Brothers used to be so on top of everything. They were the Lil Wayne that laughed all the way to the bank, took creative risks, and proved a lot of people wrong on a very regular basis.
The industry needs to employ more individuals that have spent their entire lives immersed in music and music culture. Not hiring someone because they are related or "overqualified" on paper. |

Prince was so masterful 4 giving his cd away with each concert ticket now no other artist can chart on Billboard that way. They had to change the rules. He is so innovative & a trendsetter & a market genius.

No, you were calling her out because in your little mind you thought you had "caught" Madonna copying a promotional tactic from Prince, and that it would be good amo to smear her with. Then when it was pointed out to you that she hadn't, that she'd have nothing to gain by doing so, and your original remarks were therefore invalidated...you then pull out some irrelevant babble about Superbowl performances, miscellaneous album tracks from her last album, and Lil' Wayne in an attempt to save face. Talk about "cold busted."
I love how after 30 years Madonna continues to command massive media attention and commercial success - despite some peoples 'best' efforts to discredit, slander and "hate" her away. It's got to be frustrating for naysayers to constantly be outfoxed or contradicted by her. Madonna's one helluva adversary, isn't she? Nothing seems to stifle her for long. She just KEEPS coming back. Damn.

The person you should be damning is Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine. He makes all of his artists sell-out hard. Look at the damage Iovine has done with The Black Eyed Peas. |

You can give away whatever you want, but they won't be counted as sales on Billboard
Thats whats cool about this is that she is truely doing it to get her music out there to people that she knows probably wont buy it. Its not a chart gimmick like Prince did but its truely genuine. Kudos to Madge!! |

her new single was started to bomb even tho her record label Live nation owns clear channel the owner of most radio stations in the US. The audience numbers have decreased at a record pace i have never seen a single lose so much stream so fast
Even in the UK her single is flopping badly |
