Roberta Flack's Beatles Tribute Album (Feb 7)

December 14, 2011

Press release:

Roberta Flack, the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist, is back with a new song and forthcoming album, Let It Be Roberta--a collection of Beatles song interpretations.

She has long been known as an unparalleled musician who effortlessly inhabits the worlds of pop, soul, R&B, jazz and folk.

From her very first recording , "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", which hit #1 in the U.S across all charts, Flack has created strong emotional bonds with her listeners through her poignant musicality and unerring stylizations while also shining an uncompromising light onto the culture and politics of the times.

This is Flack's first album in 8 years and it was produced by Sherrod Barnes, who has also produced Beyonce and Angie Stone, with contributing producers Jerry Barnes and Barry Miles.

Let It Be Roberta will be released on February 7, 2012 worldwide.

Tracklisting is as follows:

"Hey Jude"
"I'm Looking Through You"
"If I Fell"
"We Can Work It Out"
"I Shoulda Known Better"
"The Long and Winding Road"
"Here, There and Everywhere"
"Come Together"
"And I Love Him"
"Let It Be"
"Yesterday"
"Oh Darling"

They may have a Target edition of the cd, but it's on iTunes with a bonus track and booklet.

Based on this review from soultracks.com and the snippets I've heard, I think I'll skip this one.

Yeah. I was quite surprised. they are always very kind to the veteran acts in their reviews, even if they have to lie a little.biggrin They just flat-out wiped up the floor with poor Roberta.

I know. bitchfight

lol

I don't see a Target edition listed on their site.

Looks like the iTunes version has the bonus track, "Here Comes The Sun." It's listed as $9.99.

Amazon has the better deal. Album is on sale for $3.99 (mp3 cd) and has 2 different bonus trax, "Yesterday" and "I'm Looking Through You."

They have done it in the past. They did it with Alicia Keys "As I Am" cd and Musiq Soulchild's "Luvanmusiq" cd. On the iTunes site, it was branded as a "Target Edition" with their logo on the top of the webpage.

I didn't know that she was about to turn 75 either! Wow, she looks great (and still sounds good). She has taken care of herself.
