I enjoyed this movie and I dont really even like movies. Haven't seen this wacky film in forever. I remember the music, Donna Summer, the cute DJ, the fun Latin dancer, Jeff Goldblum as a player, sneaky underage girls, dude trapped in the basement and the square couple.

Seems like the music and the music business was having way too much fun during this period, and as tacky as some of the music and music films were, it still made it appealing and you didn't care how juvenile or lame the stories were. It was just all in fun. Nowadays, things are just too serious and the business is trying to hard to stay afloa, kiling the joy and the music that built the damn thing!

I still owned this movie on VHS. I can't believe this movie bombed back in the day but yet had a #1 hit with 'Last Dance"( I believe it was the only Disco song to win an academy award.)

I think the movie had its funny moments I loved the married couple celebrating their anniversary in the disco but she ends with Jeff Golblum and he with the pill-poppin club freak.

Im surprised noone mentioned an unknown Debra Winger.

RIP to Ray Vitts the DJ I found out he died like 3 years later.

Funny story related to that-Jermaine Jackson was supposed to play the DJ in the movie, but didn't get the part, even though he was the 'Prince of Motown' because of his marraige to Hazel Gordy.

a few years later, she was co-starring in 'Urban Cowboy' with John Travolta.I guess that was her breakthrough film that made her a star?

The film may not have been a box office hit but the movie title became a hit catchphrase for all working folks who can't wait for Friday to come to have the weekend off.

One of my favorite scenes is when several of the female characters are in the bathroom crying lol Things weren't going their way and they're all depressed.Donna's character (Nicole Sims) keeps handing everyone some tissue....lol....I like the determined look on Nicole's face when she puts on that wig and decides that she's not gonna give up!

I loved the husband and wife scene in the club where she removes her coat then she adjusts her dress to show her cleavage. Her husband is not having it I think she says ...they're my tits not yours...and he says '..they're our tits and our tits belong at home not for everyone to see...: meanwhile all dudes at their table are checking her out.. Hilarious

thumbs up! Great scene! I also like the scene where that same couple is on the dancefloor dancing with other partners (she's with the owner of the disco,he's with that weird hippie chick) and they're trying to make each other jealous...lol...

My Favorite scenes were all the DJ Bobby Speed scenes in the DJ booth, because that reminds me of me. Bobby Speed was controlling everything in the club, he's a real star of this movie and got little credit.

The explosion of the DJ booth (during The Commodores "Too Hot To Trot") was WAY OVER THE TOP! lol

Yes Bobby Speed was the man not the owner the DJ was always known to get the hot chicks. Lol

Another scene that was funny was the short rude garbage truck driver who was setup with the teacher and they were total opposites. Despite the mixup she still stays with him to make the date work. I liked that she punched the shit out of him after he called her an old maid.

How about the guy who's trying to order a drink and he's virtually ignored.

Classic
