Sir Psycho Sexy

''Got the devil on my dick, got some demons in my semes''

This song is the perfect mixture of funk and rock: Fuck. wink

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

I like some od their music circa 1999-2006 but for me Blood Sugar Sex Magik is much better than any of their other albums. It really stinks that that lineup waited eight years to release another album. I think if they had stuck together and released a couple of albums in the nineties that they might have equaled or bettered it.

But honestly, One Hot minute is not that bad....

One Big Mob, Walkabout, Aeroplane, My Friend's etc. Where good songs

And Californication all the way to Stadium Arcadium are inspired albums, not as funky per say as Blood. But there mellow tracks & ballads where top notch...

There last really funky Album was Californication, By the Way all the way to I'm With You are a lot more mellow.

I played the shit out of Blood Sugar Sex Magik from the ages of eleven to fifteen so that may have something to do with my afinity for it. They lost me with One Hot Minute and by the time I heard Californication I was twenty and had moved on to other bands. I was, and still am, extremely turned off by the sound of Californication. I'm no audiophile and when people go on about the Loudness War I often get lost but Californication is one album that was clearly mastered much too loudly. The first time I heard it I though the cd was defective. The songs themselves are actually quite good but I wish they would re-release the album with better sound quality. I have heard an "unmastered" version and it is not perfect but it is much more listenable.

Oh yeah, the best ever Chili's jam, this was liquid gold. I remembert the lyrix, got me all my friends in high school. I was a geek until this one cat heard me singing "She stuck my butt with her big black stick, I said whats up now suck my dick, like a ram getting ready to jam the lamb" He asked how I knew that song, I told him I only listen to it like all the time, because its funny as all fuck. Their most under rated song ever. I am sure its because Anthony was listening to a lot of Prince at the time.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

This entire album was my favorite from them! All of my favorite songs from them are on BSSM. It is rare for me that an artist's most popular album is my favorite, but in this case all the mainstream accolades that BSSM received were warranted. It is arguably their best and it is timeless. They hit their apex with this one.

I think it highlights what is wrong in the industry today in that artists aren't allowed to grow. Because of the economics of the biz now, artists are expected to hit a home run with their first single. So, time is not spent cultivating them. The Peppers had to grow into BSSM just like Prince had to grow into 1999/Purple Rain and MJ had to grow into Thriller. Now, it is one and out. Sad.

perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...
