Speaking to MTV News this week, Elliott’s longtime collaborator Timbaland dished on their joint comeback, saying:

“Me and Missy are both coming with our albums at the same time, and it will be in June.

Right now, we’re preparing to get both our videos, our first singles, shot kinda at the same time. We want to do it as a movement and spontaneously.”

The news follows the 40 year old’s recent revelation that she suffers from Graves Disease – an autoimmune ailment she asserts will not hold her back.

Which is just as well, as the industry craves her creative flare. She redefined the concept of the female MC, and we can’t wait to see her do it again!

This is real good news they been working in the studio seems like forever. I chatted with Missy on twitter last year she is dope. Timbo can be very moody from my run in with him at the Grammy's a few years ago. But they both going to change the music industry again like they did in the late 90's. Now with the late beautiful Aaliyah gone & Ginuwine out the picture. They can focus this time on just themselves.

Nicki Minaj is nothing more than a combination of Missy's imagination and Lil Kim's image....Period. People tend to just focus on her various looks but don't consider her animated crazy flow is straight from the gene pool of Ms. Elliott.

People seem to be so obsessed over who copied who, meanwhile Missy Elliot has always said she loves Nicki. They have the same outlandish quality to them, but I don't think Missy could write any of the rhymes Nicki does and that goes both ways.

I don't c any comparison of Missy whatsoever to Minaj. Missy is in a league all her own. To just refer to her as a rapper is an insult. She is a writer,producer,arranger,Visionary,singer,dancer extraordinaire. Who & what has Nicki ever produced? Besides grinding up against Madonna....

Oh, I fully agree. My point wasn't about the totality of what makes Missy, Missy. No disrespect to Missy. Hell, she revolutionized the game for women in Hip Hop. I was emphasizing the fact that most people associate Nicki with Kim due her image while not really recognizing the influence Missy (I believe) had on her Nicki's approach to rhyming. To use RJKCNE line, "outlandish". Nicki's animated, crazy way of rapping isn't original. Missy was doing that shit back in the 90's

As someone who grew up on classic Hip Hop, I was initially dumbfounded by Missy. At first, I was like, "What is she doing?" After a second listen, I got it. I've been getting her every since...I hope they cook up something HOT! Lord knows we need it....

Timbaland's music isn't slow. It's just not obnoxiously tempo'd to match the heart rate of a 9 year old kid on a sugar high like corny ass europop.
