Sometimes I think shows like X-Factor and Idol are sending a very distorted message to the public and younger generation. Artists like these (and more) would get a definite NO from the panel, even though they are not known for thier vocals but a style and sound that is much more than just a voice. Just to name a few. When I introduce young ears to these artists, I always get, "They can't sing, why do you like them?"

I think Barry White would get past the judges but not the fan voting....possibly Sade too.

The others would never make it past the judges today, but all the judges praise them. Makes you wonder.
