according to one report,"GMAYL" will be the second song that Madonna performs at the SuperBowl tonight....

Victor Cruz and co. can expect an all-star playlist from Madonna today — the Material Girl’s halftime set will include some of her greatest hits, sources told The Post.
Madge will kick off the show with “Vogue” before showcasing her new dance song “Give Me All Your Luvin’” — the first single from her upcoming album, MDNA. The third song is believed to be a mash-up of “Holiday” and “Ray of Light.” Cee Lo Green and a church choir will join her to wrap up the set with “Like A Prayer.”

I like the video and the song, very catchy.

What I dont like is Nicki Minaj and MIA. What was the point of putting them in there?

The song and video would have been fine without them.

I gathered that much, but their parts bring the song down and don't add anything to it.

Unfortunate but as you said, guess that's how "hits" work these days.

Especially with someone of her age and stature. She knows she can get a hit, but she adds the youngsters "just in case".

You do realize that this means nothing in real terms as Interscope has paid 94 ClearChannel stations to play GMAYL at the top of every hour. It is the same deal that they inked for Born This Way and Def Jam secured for Rihanna's You Da One. BTW had the momentum to eke out 1 week at #1 on CHR/Pop, but YDO could only muster a #19 peak after exploding onto the charts.

The promotion ends tonight, at which time this is going to see relatively minor gains and then plummet off a cliff next week when the airplay starts to roll over.

Meanwhile, GMAYL has not graced the Top 10 on iTunes, which indicates that it's not really catching on with the public yet. It will see a spike in sales after the SB, but that will be short-lived.

They are going to need a second single by late February.

does the iTunes singles chart count the download of the track that comes witht he MDNA pre-order? because the album has been consistently at #1 since Friday morning. Even Celebration is at #4 in the US, currently. I think the video was #1 as well (no major feat there, though).

which makes me wonder if an individual purchase of the song vs. the one that comes with the pre-order are counted seperately.

lol Crazy, ain't it? Like I do expect the song to do well (Clear Channel obviously will make that happen...) but not so well that it takes down all newcomers. Like I said before, Adele, Rihanna and 'em ain't gotta worry about Madonna lol

the song's producer,Martin Solveig, talks about the recording of this track....

What about her latest single “Give me All Your Luvin’”…
MARTIN SOLVEIG – Everything went so fast with that one. We were working in a recording studio in London. She listened to the music. She grabbed the microphone and said “ok let’s record it now”. We actually kept elements from that very first recording in the actual song. It’s all about dance, joyful, and being positive. It’s a ball of energy. The song is based on a sort of twist rhythm. Then, her manager and I thought about including M.I.A. and Madonna thought about Nicki Minaj, because she adores her. Both are featured more than once in the album.

Its a bit different though when a channel is PAYING for that promotion ... it is not the publics doing but when has it really been about the public over the last 15 years?

Pre-ordering MDNA counts as an individual single sale for GMAYL, since you are paying for it up front.

When the album is released, each of these pre-order sales will be converted to a "-1" for the sales tally of GMAYL. So, if she sells 50,000 pre-orders, then 50,000 units will be deducted from the sales figure for the GMAYL single on the album's release week (assuming everyone who pre-orders it goes through with the download - you can always cancel pre-orders).

Individual tracks have much higher sales totals than digital albums, which is why the album can be #1 on pre-orders but the single has not cracked the Top Ten on iTunes.

The more you listen to it the more catchy it gets (apart from the cheerleading bits lol) and it reminds me of Gwen Stefani's old videos. But this is gonna and is a huge hit for her, its already had over 6 million hits on youtube. The music industry is so boring (esp when you see majority of female pop singers over decades all trying to copy Madonna one way or another) it needs the real Madonna in it, thank god she's back!

nod Madonna is unstoppable. She's gonna announce her tourdates this week, too. This is gonna be a great year for her.

Madonna’s ‘M.D.N.A.’ Already a Worldwide Hit

YouTube

They don’t call her the Queen of Pop for nothin’! Madonna‘s latest album, ‘M.D.N.A.’ and her new single, ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” are at the top of the iTunes charts all over the planet.

Madonnarama reports that ‘M.D.N.A.’ can be preordered in 51 countries — and is already at No. 1 in a whopping 49 of them! Madonna topped the charts in Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K., the U.S. (but of course!) and Venezuela. Phew! She currently rests at No. 2 in Japan and No. 3 in Australia.

This is an especially impressive feat when you realize that the album isn’t even out until March 26. These fans really couldn’t wait. You go, Madge!

Chances are preorders for ‘M.D.N.A.’ will only skyrocket even further following her Super Bowl halftime show tomorrow (Feb. 5). The highly anticipated performance features Cee Lo Green and LMFAO as well as ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” collaborators Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.

will only continue the momentum....
