Prince don't give a FUCK what we think. lol He know he was trying to promote himself. You, Kool, are the one trying to downplay what Prince did just so you can talk shit about anyone else that did it. It's not a bad thing to use your product to sell. That's why it called show business. He wasn't just there because he liked football. Fuck outta here. lol

I didn't say its anything wrong with any artist promoting themselves. Of course an artist is going to promote themself. That is there job.Ur totally misunderstanding me...Plus stop making me out to be a crazy fool...Its really not that serious. I am mad at Sheila E for saying that.U can feel how U want about it..

Oh cry me a river... you definitely said that Prince performed on there with nothing to promote but he did. Don't try to back up now saying it ain't that serious. If it wasn't serious, you wouldn't have gone all in detail on how Prince was unlike others who appeared on Super Bowl. As for Sheila's comments, I'm over it, she said it, I didn't like it either, moving on. arrow

LOVE4ONEANOTHER

He certainly wasn't promoting a new single or album, but don't you think he was promoting his live show, which is where he's made most of his money in the past decade?

I mean look I am not stupid. Of course an artist is going to want to promote there own brand or whatever they have going on,when they go on the Superbowl. I even said that in an earlier thread that his superbowl per4mance made his record sells skyrocket. So of course it help him promote his future live shows, which I said to this day people still are flocking to see him live. My point was he didn't flaunt his appearance on there for the benefit of a new single or album.

Prince would have released Planet Earth almost 6 months later after superbowl whether he did the superbowl or not. Given his almost every year release of an album track record.

Exactly, he was promoting himself as a product, but not promoting new music.

But its still the same thing... seriously if Prince didnt care about promotion at all I dont think he would have bothered to do a big commercial event as the Superbowl... Promotion is not a BAD thing when it is done the right way.

they're both promotion, but they are not the same products being promoted

I was simply addressing an argument as to whether or not he was promoting something. I'm saying he was, but he was not promoting a new single as Bruce & Madonna did.

So everyone's right!!
