Prince was honestly just amazing and was in my opinion better than the actual Super Bowl game lol...which is a real rarity. That Super Bowl was soooo boring. Maybe the worst ever in modern Super Bowl history. I mean Rex Grossman was the Bears starting QB. Rex fucking Grossman.

I saw Michael getting knocked by many in here for lip-singing during that performance....but people don't realize that he actually created this entire Super Bowl half-time spectacle. I don't get why they would. If anything they need to thank Michael. Madonna wouldn't have wanted to be on the show without him lol Plus it was different times. Seeing Michael Jackson on the Super Bowl was a real big deal because like you pointed out it hadn't been done before. But yeah people still emulate him today. I mean yeah it's their personal opinion if they think his performance sucked or was not as good (I mean it was a Dangerous Redux) but he still provided excitement. And that was enough for me at 8 1/2.

first off he never did a interview 4 the superbowl. at the press conference he chose 2 perfom instead which included get on the boat from his lastest album at the time ..hmmmm

On an individual basis, Prince was the best. The only reason Madonna's was so well received was because of the production/spectacle that it was. That's always something Prince has lacked (if you consider it so) with the laymen/general audience. His shows don't have the circus/broadway/theater/visionairy influence that Madonna has. SOTT tour was pretty close though. Same thing for his 80s music videos compared to those of MJs.

Speaking of MJ..it's really hard to compare his show to Madonna's due to his being almost 20 years ago. It's not even fair being how far technology has come along to compare them, especially since that's really what most of the general public is looking for.

The stage he uses since then looks very similar, but it is not the one he used at the Super Bowl. Case closed.
