SNL Musical Guests Lately With a rare exception here and there, such as Maroon 5 and Jack White, does anyone else think the musical guests of late on "Saturday Night Live" are horrible? Who finds these people and considers them talented? I use the time to go get a snack or use the restroom because the quality of the majority of these guests are a waste of time. I mean, every now and then, they DO have some good guests - but then again they can serve up someone so obscure and talentless, you have to wonder what they were thinking. Case in point:
- Sleigh Bells - Karmin - Bon Iver - Lana Del Rey
To each his or her own, I guess. But do you have any thoughts on the subject?
Here is a cool link about the history of hosts and musical guests since the beginning. The earlier the listings, the more great stand-out. It's interesting to note that some shows had more than one musical guest in the earlier years. February 21, 1981 is VERY notable!

This is an interesting topic. I wonder who chooses the musical guests? That's mostly why I watch the show and it can be very hit or miss. I saw Karmin and had never heard of them before. I thought they were entertaining but borderline annoying too. It turns out they were a You Tube sensation. WTH?? How did they get on the show? Next week it will be Jack White and I can't wait! | |

I KNOW you are not throwing shade at Sleigh Bells and Bon Iver.
