I'm not a fan of it either, but it's just like "modern classical" or even worse "nu-funk." I just live with it.
I can't roll. Why categorize anything "neo"? It's like they're dissing it than giving it props if you think about it.
Yeah, it is weird if you think about it. What will the kids of the future call their music? Neo neo soul? And then after that neo neo neo soul? [Edited 2/1/12 18:44pm] |

Right. That's why I always called it simply "soul music", which it is. |

Right. That's why I always called it simply "soul music", which it is.
I've always wished that it had expanded more though. It always has been the same old hip hop inspired drums and Rhodes...I hope D'Angelo changes it up with his new album. |

I'm still awaiting on its release date. He can't simply be just touring and not do anything. It reminds me of Marvin Gaye doing his "comeback" tour and then putting his album out a year later. But I would hope in D's safe since it's been 12 years that we get the album THIS YEAR. |

I *hoping* that this is a test the waters tour and that we get an official release in the middle-end of this year. I can't wait until 13 years. That's REALLY pushing it. |
