Lenny Kravitz & Raphael Saadiq at Radio City Lenny Kravitz [Edited 12/21/11 13:38pm] Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

I really enjoyed this show last night!
Raphael Saadiq's set was very short and I missed the first 15 minutes!!!! But he had a lot of energy and tried to get the crowd involved. He ended by having everyone in the audience sing "Let The Sunshine In"...I think that's the name of the song.
Lenny hit the stage around 9:10 and I lost my mind for a minute!!! This was my first time with Lenny! He started with "Get It" from his current album! It was crazy!!! He did a couple of songs off "Black and White America", but mostly his old hits.
The highlights for me were "Get It", "Black And White America (he showed a montage of pictures from his life during this performance. It was beautiful), "Let Love Rule" (he ended his encore with this), "Are You Gonna Go My Way" (he had the crowd bouncin' to this), "I Want To Fly Away", "Cab Driver", "Believe" (the other guitar player, I can't think of his name, was ON FIRE tonight. He tore this song up).
All of I think of right now, but I sort of remember at least one other time I thought this guitar player is on fire, I just can't remember which song right now.
I have a question for anyone who has seen Lenny in the past. I always assumed he would play all the great riffs in his song. However, the other guitar player did the best parts in the songs. Has this always been the case or is this something that has just started?
Overall this was a great show....imo.

Saw them Friday night, and I was totally blown away by Raphael's performance. It was a much more uptempo set than I expected, I loved it! Towards the end when the band lined up and danced in unison - including Charles Jones - the crowd went wild, it was almost like we were watching a vintage performance of The Time "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

Always been the case, the guitar player with the huge hair is Mr. Craig Ross.
As a matter of fact, Craig played all the guitar in the album version of Are You Gonna Go My Way. "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

Is that a poke at Poke?
There's never gonna be another Prince, but I do think Lenny is the closest thing to him today as far as style, vocals, instruments (guitar, organ, bass, drums, percussion) and stage presence. The big difference between the two is Lenny ain't got no moves
Lenny played virtually every instrument on his debut album (sound familiar?) and he idolized Prince, emulating him in his earlier days. If not Lenny, who else comes closer? "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

No "poke" at ya Poke! Just didn't feel like typing the entire name
I didn't know Lenny played all the instruments on his first album - I now need to bow down to him
That's very Prince - like. But, I still expected him to play the lead guitar at the show last night. But I enjoyed him anyway, so it's all good.
