Bete Noire is a great album, his best solo record for sure.

His peak will always be the first four Roxy albums 72-74 (RoxyMusic-ForYourPleasure-Stranded-CountryLife)

after that, he fully embraced his crooner/soft-rock persona, and something was lost: the raw sophistication, irony and vision of the early Roxy years,

but damn, his solo albums are solid...a bit predictable though, and it sucks that he's such a boring fart now, I mean, he couldn't be more conservative even if he tried, lol, the same man that 40 years ago used make-up and sang about "pointless passing through Harvard or Yale, only window shopping-it's strictly no sale"

and yep, Bette Noire is his best solo album nod
