Bee Gees' Robin Gibb Makes "Spectacular" Recovery

This is certainly something to sing about!

Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb told BBC Radio 2 on Friday that he has made a "spectacular" recovery from a serious illness. (This past November, after a slew of health scares—including emergency gastro-intestinal surgery in August 2010—reports surfaced that the "Stayin' Alive" singer had been diagnosed with liver cancer .)

So what explains the 62-year-old's return to good health?

"Well, it's all simple," he explained. "I was diagnosed with a growth in my colon. It was removed.

And I've been treated for that by a brilliant doctor, and in their words 'the results have been spectacular.'"

The musician isn't really sure why reports about his well-being were so exaggerated. "I mean the fact is, I've never spoken to anybody about my condition or the condition that I was in, and a lot of them go over the point to where they're telling me things that I didn't even know about myself," he said.

As for his prognosis? "[The growth in my colon] is almost gone and I feel fantastic," he said.

"Really from now on, it's just what they could describe as a 'mopping-up' operation.

I am very active and my sense of well-being as good."

Glad to hear he's on the mend! biggrin

Yeah me too, was thinking about his status the other day when i was reading about the sad decline of the health of former baseball player and ex NY MET Gary Carter who has Brain Cancer, they basically have stopped treatments and medicines because they have not stopped appearing, and the treatments actually make him weaker, very sad, only 57.
