“People are mad as hell that El didn’t show up. They paid $105.00 to see El Debarge and Loose Ends. They tried to replace El will some Def Comedy Jam comedian name Bill Hill but the people want their money back.”

El Debarge’s management is putting out word that El missed his flight, but guess what? The streets of Detroit are telling the truth.

Believe it or not El has been VERY blessed not just with talent but with his LIFE... He looks amazing even after all his years with drug addiction and his voice is still on point. He needs to get it together. I am so sadden by this spiral turn that is happening with him. He was doing SO good... I just hope he finds some help... its so sad to see him waste so much talent

Damn! I hope they don't end up finding that boy overdosed somewhere. That's my biggest fear about him.

I am not going to believe that but after watching a recent video of him, i don't know

what to think . It was sad to watch. I am not posting that particular video,but I will post

this performance from last month. He sounds sooo good.

I hope he gets better and that he is okay. Addiction is such a hard thing to overcome.

He was doing so well too...hopefully he'll get back on track quickly.

Poor El That whole family has been through so much. It really is possible to break one's spirit. Well wishes to him and his family and the others struggling to kick that devil drug. Hopefully its not too late and he doesn't die or hurt someone.

Man, El and Loose Ends? I would've been so hyped for that show...and then so very pissed, lol.

i would have been ok if the Loose Endds performed at least...but I dont know about paying 100.00 for them.

Well, if he is showing up at free concerts and not at concerts where people paid a lot of money to see him, I kinda doubt it. Although on that radio interview, his voice sounds clear and clean, so maybe he is currently clean. Just hope he can keep it up. He's been blessed as far as health, looks, and voice goes...and he damn well knows it.

I remember Natalie Cole saying she gave a live interview back in the 80's and the interviewer asked her was she still on drugs? She told him "no" and that she was clean. She later admitted being high during that very interview.

Yeah, I saw that on Behind the Music. Natalie did look high during that interview (I think it was 1983 lol). Natalie looking back at it saying she was tore up made me chuckle.

How can he fuck up a hometown show where peeps paid over $100 a ticket to see him? Detroiters always root for their own and he let them down....again.

I'm well aware of El's struggle with addiction, but is it remotely possible that dude... simply missed his flight -- or something similarly unsexy? Why jump on some unconfirmed BS?

Meanwhile, I've gone to Google hoping (and at the same time hoping not) to find a more credibly written article on this than the one quoted above. I've come up with nothing. That HSK article is the worst piece of "journalism" I've seen in a long time. Not only do they forgo the source of a particularly incriminating accusation, but they, themselves, articulate that accusation as matter of fact (not as allegation or rumor) in the lede.

It may be time for El to check into Celebrity Rehab, but if "Jackie Jasper" doesn't stop letting his lil' play cousins write for that site, he's gonna screw around and end up paying for that drug treatment with payouts from a successful libel suit slapped against him.
