He reminds me of Kevin Hart.

I like me some Kirk Franklin but come on...this isn't really gospel music.

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
RIP Dick Clark, Whitney Houston, Don Cornelius, Heavy D, and Donna Summer. rose

No it isnt in the truest sense... Its spirtual and uplifting music... They just say that because he does contemporary "gospel"

I don't know why people say that. The word Gospel itself means "Good News"...and if this kid ain't sharing the good news of redemption and life in Christ then I don't know who is. Scripturally speaking, I have yet to discover any of his songs that contain biblical references that aren't used in the right context reading , so technically, for me he's a'ight.

Nothing but clouds, and it’s dark in my heart
and it feels like a cold niiight.
Today’s a new daaaaay, but where are my blue skies.
Where is the love and the joy that you promised me
tell me it’s alriiight."

Yes. That's what I'm talkin' bout. Kirk's sound is much like club music. It aint right to drop it like its hot and back it up for Jesus. lol

I love Kirk Franklin but I know why OLD church folks say that... the music that he makes is completely different from traditional gospel music which is why alot of people dont consider it to be gospel because he adds alot of secular elements into it.

At the end of the day it is all for God and is trying to send an uplifting message. But Kirk Franklin is not something that my church would want to play LOL...

Kirk is a crossover gospel artist that wants to reach masses and attract youth to his music for success. Im not knocking his hustle and I even enjoy alot of his tunes but the kind of music he makes is technically not true gospel.

More so contemporary gospel and even at times just uplifting music.

You cant want to sing about christ and at the same time want to grind or shake your behind for christ..smh... no. Thats what alot of church folk issues are with him but this isnt new.
