Those ladies should have gotten much more credit. They released a few singles without the ladies, and the songs flopped.

I'll bet you get slap back.....It was a toss up between The Trammps or Foxy. Foxy lost the coin toss. Get Off---->Foxy hated that dirty song lol.

Exactly my point that's why I considered them the worst disco group because the women didnt get credit. I thought for sure there was men and women in the group. When they appeared on American Bandstand (cant post the video) you see just guys lipsyncing and doing a horrible job at it.
BEST: Chic (obviously), Donna Summer, BeeGees (pure disco era)
WORST: Disco Tex (lol), and established, non-disco artists/bands that tried to jump on the bandwagon, like Kiss or Cher...there are a lot of one hit wonders, but hell at least that hit was COOL
This lady needs no introduction... DONNA SUMMER is the best
What MJScarousal said:) She is known as the true Queen Of Disco, but I call her the Queen Of Dance, the Queen Of Music (because she covers many genres), and the Empress:) Despite her title, being considered the Queen Of Disco has been a downside for her because many people looked down on disco and still do. As a result, that often puts her in a disco box and anytime her name is heard, the listeners think disco and they move on without even hearing her work. She's very underrated by many and, fortunately, highly regarded by many as well. The fact that she's still around is amazing. The fact that she takes so long to release new material is annoying to those who love her music.

I said this back then about people who hate disco and I still say this about them to this very day...."fuck 'em".

There was an interview a long time ago (can't remember the year) and the interviewer asked Donna how she felt about Madonna replacing her as the queen of dance music. She replied along the lines of saying as far as she was concerned, Madonna could have the crown, cape and everything else that went along with it. It seemed to me at the time the interviewer might have been trying to stir up something, but Donna graciously declined to go along with it.

yeah,it's hilarious seeing clips of Foxy lip-syncing the female vocals
Silver Convention were one of the worst.Yes,"Fly Robin Fly" is a great tune, but the rest of their music wasn't very good.1976's lame hit "Get Up And Boogie" gave alot of ammunition to the 'disco sucks' crowd...lol....they specialized in a repetitive, lazy form of disco music.I have a few of their albums and instead of makig me want to dance, the music puts me to sleep.
^^That was Eurodisco. Disco from the US was an offshoot of funk/R&B, Eurodisco wasn't.
You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
I've always had a soft spot for Gonzalez' "Haven't Stopped Dancin' Yet" and Freda Payne's "Love Magnet." Just brilliant compositions with exciting vibes.
Brainstorm's "Hot for You" blew my mind and of course, 7th Avenue's "Miami Heatwave" will forever be a classic, however, here are my best and worst lists:
BEST:
Donna Summer
France Joli
Cerrone
Jackie Moore
Cheryl Lynn
Evelyn "Champagne" King
Bee Gees
Chic
El Coco
Vicki Sue Robinson
WORST:
Rick Dees
Santa Esmeralda
Wild Cherry
Sister Sledge
Dan Hartman
Rosebud
The Sylvers
Tavares
B.T. Express
The Raes
(Just my opinion.) There was as much to like as there was to DISLIKE then, but TOO MANY to mention!
Now for one of THE best and very underrated by Dan Hartman:
I totally forgot about Dan Hartman you know he doesn't get pegged as a disco artist some still think he was a one-hit wonder. Love this song by the way Loleeta Holloway another underrated talent. She could blow.....
