The Oscars would be crazy not to. If they don't they'll miss out on a prime opportunity to have the Muppets perform their song up on stage. Now how cool would that be? [Edited 1/16/12 13:42pm] |

This shot was shown when Idris Elba won. Apparently it was an upset or something...because right after Dustin they showed Tim Robbins who had a blank "I can't believe they gave him that fucking Golden Globe" look.
Mr.Robbins should kneel down and kiss somebody's dick he still has a job in Hollywood.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

Are you serious?
No one is not denigrating her... A poster used her nomination as an example as to why these award shows should not be taken seriously... I agreed to it because its true. You said yourself it was because of the popularity of a movie not the credibility of the actress... so what point are you making because you are saying the same thing??
I already said previously in this thread Meryl gets awards because of who she is not on her acting..
You act like I was the one that mentioned Beyonce in this thread when I wasnt... but someone made a valid point that was true...
[Edited 1/16/12 9:53am]
Hey, you responded to me, which caused me to respond to you, when originally I responded to musicjunky318, who quoted CynicKill. I didn't target you.
And that's right, I repeated what you said in a different way, with my whole point being to show how contradictory your response was. Beyonce was randomly mentioned in this thread about Madonna, then you said she is somehow not "worthy" to be nominated for a Globe, when she was no different then the rest of the lead actresses chosen. And she didn't even win anyway. If she had won for some stupid role like Streep, then maybe there would be something to complain about.
Whoooo wait a minute .. WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU MAD ABOUT??? Cause I am not mad or angry about anybody winning an award or at any poster in this thread
You stated that actresses get nods because of high profile movies WHICH was why Beyonce got her nod and was why HER NOD was mentioned as an example in the first place.... ONCE AGAIN.. so what is your issue?
LOL
You seem to grasp the point most people in here are making about the golden globes... I am not sure if your issue has to do with because Beyonce was mentioned as the example or what your deal is... No one has said anything negative about Beyonce. A poster used her nod as an example the SAME EXAMPLE YOU made about how actresses get nods if they were in high budget movies regardless of their credibility....stop arguing just to argue... you said the SAME thing.. LOL

I dunno guys.... I listened to the Elton John song once and I think its better than that Madonna song.
But I think Madonna deserves the win for other reasons...
What fucked it up for Elton though was having Gaga on the damn track!!! What the hell?
There is a version without Gaga and it sounds WAY better, just Elton.... reminds me of Elton in the 80s... He messed up by adding Gaga vocals so on that note... Congrads Madonna LOL I rather her win it then him win it just because he added Gaga vocals : /
Even without Gaga, I still didn't like it. I've never been a fan of Elton's Disney-like songs...
Exactly Gaga did not mess up the song….. I did like the lion king songs he did though. And Mary looked pissed even before she lost.

What does Elton John have against Madonna? He got total egg on his face for losing out to her & his partner ranted on facebook about her winning. He looked so digusted the whole night. Why did he even attend it? Madonna handled his rude remarks with class...Love her for that...

Like the title of her song. Its a true statement about the whole Prince Vault..............

Was I the only who thought Madonna's acceptance speech was pretentious as hell?
She just kept going on and on about "Me, Me, Me, I, I, I"
I know all of these awards shows are pretentious and self-congratulating, but Madge's speech was especially grating, IMO. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!! |

Maybe he should had came wearing a dress after all. Y'all remember when he had words with Tina Turner for the VH1 Divas thing a few years back? That was funny.

Yeah! Like any other star in that situation does too... but, oh wait, it's Madonna, so she's not allowed to use the words "I" and "my"!? |

It was a rehearsal taking place I believe and Tina thought that the song should go one way and Elton felt like it should go another. Instead of trying to compromise, Elton threw a hissy fit, caught a diva-tude and I believe walked out the rehearsal. I think he later apologized, but if you google it, I'm sure you will find more details about it. I'm just going off of memory. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

He already was on the verge of getting a coma inducing ass kicking from Tina.
Anybody who took as much ass kicking such as Tina did, knows how to fight. I WISH he would pull that shit again, all that namyohorengekyo will fly out the window, and he'll end up being starred at by Nutbush City Limits. You'll not hear a bip outtta that hot, bothered and bewildered queen again, after that. |
