Did she give her acceptance speech in a faux British accent?

If she did it was probably to make Elton madder. lol

Meryl Streep is an eternal HBIC. Does she ever not win?

Shes good but they give it to her just to give it her because of who she is....typical like award shows do with everything.

^ Yeah it's a real nice song. This win was a slap in the face to the Oscar snub (allegedly). lol

Whaaaa? Who the hell is saying that? The Golden Globes always dish out awards to big names (see Angie Jolle and Johnny Depp being nominated for The Tourist) or to people willing to buy an award (See Pia Zadora or Sharon Stone). They gave this is to Bruce Springstein and Prince in recent years when neither were nominated for the Oscar and no one said anything about it being a response to being Oscar snubbed.

Here's the deal, Madonna's film didn't qualify because the Oscar rules say your song has to be prominently featured during the film or be the "first" closing credits song. Her song is played second which disqualifies it. Ain't no snub.

You guys do know that the Globes have ZERO credibility because of their history for being flat-out bought.

The Oscar nods are announced on the 25th right? Wonder what song will be nominated? I know Mary's would... don't know about anyone else's. I know Madonna's certainly won't qualify.

And did I need a theory lesson on how these awards are bought? I know, but thanks for nothing. lol

I dunno guys.... I listened to the Elton John song once and I think its better than that Madonna song.

But I think Madonna deserves the win for other reasons...

What fucked it up for Elton though was having Gaga on the damn track!!! What the hell?

There is a version without Gaga and it sounds WAY better, just Elton.... reminds me of Elton in the 80s... He messed up by adding Gaga vocals so on that note... Congrads Madonna LOL I rather her win it then him win it just because he added Gaga vocals : /

EJ and Gaga are really chubby, so I blame it on that. (She's his son's godmother.)

Elton John's Hubby SLAMS MADONNA

You're Desperate & Narcissistic Elton John's husband David Furnish LASHED OUT at Madonna following her victory speech at the Golden Globes last night ... saying it was "embarrassing in it's narcissism." Moments after Madge won the statue for Best Original Song, David Furnish went to his Facebook page and WENT OFF ... writing, "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!" For the record -- Elton was nominated in the same category and seemed pissed off in the crowd when Madonna's name was read. But David continued on Facebook ... writing, "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissism. And her critisism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.

Elton John Disses Madonna

10/03/2003 12:36:00 Written By: Wire Story

Sir Elton to Madonna: "It Hasn't Got a Tune - It's The Worst Bond Song of All Time!" Fri, Nov 29, 2002, 10:11 AM PT HOLLYWOOD (Zap2it.com) -Madonna just can't do anything to please those Brits. This time it's Sir Elton John leading the charge, attacking the Material Girl's ‘DIE ANOTHER DAY’ theme song in the press. He told British journalists that the tune is the worst 007 theme in the franchise's history: "It hasn't got a tune," Elton John told The London Sun. "James Bond themes are usually very camp and this one's different. It is the worst Bond tune of all time!" He added that the producers "should have gone for somebody like Lulu and Shirley Bassey, or maybe I'm in that league." This is the second attack on the actress/singer by the Elton John household. Earlier this month, David Furbish, Elton John's life-mate, went public with his opinions when he heard that Madonna was going to make a movie about her life. "I can't imagine anything more boring than a film about her because there's no secrets," Furnish told the British press. "She's bared her soul to the press… We've witnessed every incarnation. There's no mystery, there's no mystique." "Die Another Day" composer David Arnold has also dissed Madonna's foray into the Bond universe. "Ideally, I would have liked to make some musical sense of her song," he told London's Sunday Express," but I couldn't!"

Because she did not do a Oscar let alone Golden globe worthy job to even be considered nominated.

As if majority of the people who win those awards actually "do a Oscar let alone Golden globe worthy job." If that was the case, Meryl Streep would not have won Best Actress again last night for a boring movie just because her name is Meryl Streep.

And no matter what you say, the lead actresses of all of the so-called "best," most popular films of each year are nominated for that category, which, again, is the only reason Beyonce was even in the list. You denigrating her for no reason is getting old.
