Roger Sanchez's "1999": Australian release Roger Sanchez's CD of remixes of Prince's "1999" will be released in Australia through Transistor Music. In an interview with Cyclone Wehner Sanchez said that Paisley Park had approved his remixes: 'I've always loved the original record. And I just knew tons of people will remake it and you'll probably have a whole lot of people who won't do it the right way. Unfortunately, you're gonna see plenty of cheesy cover versions of it. And I wanted to do one version that I knew at least was gonna get it right.'

Thats what I came here to say. At least in my case, I never noticed how melancholy the lyrics were till recently(then again, I rarely pay attention to lyrics - esp if the groove is a killer).
The entire Cosmic Slop album sound highly personal now that I think about it. | |
