Absolutely great track.
Best version for me is the Phil Harding's "Re-Mix" from the 10".
I like the "Extended Version", but sometimes I find it a little too much "stop&go".

the 45 single radio mix was always my favorite with the sped up background singers.

I know...like someone else said...it might be just the stop and go of it all....just liked the short u.s. mix version the best. There was another version without the added background vocals too I didnt like..may have been the uk 45 version? Straight Jacket Funk Affair

The band dissolved in 1990 then reunited in 2007.
An interesting side note: According to lead vocalist/leader Dr Robert, the band took its name from an Australian racial slur for Aboriginal wind instrumentalists, which someone used after he played a gig with Aborigines. "They nicknamed us the Blow Monkeys, which I think is a pretty racist thing, but I thought it was a good band name", he said in an interview. [Edited 1/12/12 10:51am] | |
