OK, this is a tough one. I love the funk oriented version of the original and the new jack swing-styled rump shaker of the remake... and I initially grew up on the remake so...

I'm going for B Angie B's... but that wasn't easy to make.

Never cared for B Angie B's version, so I'll have to go with The Emotions on this one. However, there is another version the I stronger prefer over The Emotions' original version. It's from a group of sisters called Perri. Most of you probably don't know who they are but they made like 3 albums between the mid eighties to early nineties. they also used to tour as background vocalists for Anita Baker.

For me, no contest. I like them both.

I almost said the same thing but something about B. Angie's ending of that song that won it over.

Well, The Emotions on the original can show that they can be funky and B Angie B just rocks on the remake w/o going to far from how the original sounded.
