The Eagles "One Of These Nights" The melody has been stuck in my head for the last 6 or 7 years. I just couldn't think of any of the lyrics. Haven't heard the song since the 80s. I just happen to be listening to the radio (which is extremely rare) on my ride home this evening and it came on one of the Soft Rock stations. It was dark and I was scrambling to jot down the lyrics as I was driving. When I got home, I was surprised to find out this was an Eagles song. Finally finding this tune really made my day!

This is one of those songs I never tire of, no matter how many times I've heard it. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Just kidding
Damn, One of These Nights is just an amazing, perfect song! I'm not ashamed to admit it, the Eagles rank very, very high on my list of greatest bands ever! And don't even get me started on Don Henley's solo work..I'm a junkie

Don Henley was actually my intro to the Eagles. He and Glenn Frey. I heard their solo material before I heard the Eagles'. I was all excited when they reunited in '94 though I didn't own their material, I knew some of it real well.

Well, I'm not familiar with Mr. Frey's solo material to be honest, except for the omni-present The Heat is on, of course But Don Henley may have written the soundtrack for my youth, for all that I'm concerned...it's a shame he never released anything after Inside Job..well, maybe he'll do another one someday..he was never known for squashing out album after album, after all!
