Who was your first favorite musical artist/group?

The first favorite musical artist - like a first love. biggrin You can have 10 years of not listening to his albums and has long been removed posters from the wall, but he always takes a certain part of your heart.

Let's nostalgia ....

When I was 9-14 years, I just loved Okean Elzy.

Who was your first musical love?

I think it was Johnnie Taylor or maybe Frankie Lee Sims.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I would expect so.

I'm 40 and I remember it quite clearly.

I remember liking music before Numan, but he was the first artist who I actually wanted to own music by.

KISS 4-6

Alice Cooper / Guns N' Roses / Roxette 10-12

Michael Jackson 12-14

Prince 14 -------------------->

I'd still say Michael Jackson was the "first", because he was the first I became a fan of. He made a big impact on my life. I just happened to have music on tapes of the earlier artists and they were just names that the other kids around me were listening to. Listening to KISS tapes at such an early age was no different from playing with my Masters of the Universe or Transformers figures.

I still love the 70s albums + Back in Black and some (10-15) songs of the whole 81-08 period. That's all.

Nowadays, it bugs me that they have such a BIG mainstream audience, something that I'LL never understand: posh 00s white girls with AC/DC t-shirts? really? a band of creepy, nasty, dirty, ugly +55 years old guys who play traditional, 70s-like rock?? wow confuse

I know, i mean hey good for them. but there stuff is used in commercials, movies, video games, i hear at the mall, store, neighboors house, i mean it's insane lol

But then again, since i was a freshman in high school circa 05. AC/DC, Iron Maiden & Metallica where shits constantly worn by people, and some did it just to be cool razz

Going by that definition, posters on the wall etc., it's His Royal Badness, Prince.
