if they started this before UNIVERSAL/HIP O decided to do theirs why stop? Most releases are not seen stateside anyway. I still havent seen that Stephaine Mills or Debarge sets in any Best Buy ive been to.Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. I haven't seen many Hip-O Select cds in any store (unless it's an independent record store). The major chains aren't going to carry that type of stuff anymore (unless you order it). Hip-O Select is considered to be a "specialty" line for Universal. They specialize in selling their stuff online and in independent stores. I've ordered several of their box sets and albums. I love all of them that I've gotten. Their mastering is great and the packaging is wonderful.
Stephanie's "Whatcha Gonna Do" was released a few years ago overseas and were available in limited numbers. Her 20th Century albums weren't available stateside until the Feel The Fire set came out last year. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Yep. I'm skipping this one since I also purchased the Feel the Fire collection. I'm just patiently waiting for "Tantalizingly Hot" and "Merciless" to be reissued.
BBR has also announced a reissue of Stephanie's much sought after 70's Motown album "For the First Time" for later this year.

A deluxe edition of KISS’ classic 1976 effort Destroyer. (it’s expected to be presented over two discs like Universal’s other Deluxe Edition titles), it is slated for release on April 17, and will feature Ken Kelly’s original rejected artwork for the album. (Casablanca Records objected to what is now considered a tame depiction of the band standing triumphant over the flaming wreckage of a city, upon which Kelly submitted the version we all know and love today.)Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. Initially I was pretty excited about this until I realised there's not really much in the way of extras to include. It will probably just be the original album on the first disc and some remixes/alternate takes on the second. I bet it won't even be two discs worth of material. Hopefully the first disc will feature the "outtakes" and the second will be a lengthy live show. | |

Yep! Like 4 or 5 times already. This reissue is highly unnecessary. But, I believe BBR is committed to reissuing her entire Sony catalog, even if it does mean flooding the market with duplicates of what's already out there. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

There are only like 6 or 7 songs on that album. I wonder if there are some unreleased songs from those sessions that are just sitting in the vaults that are not able to be licensed for release? "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

"Thighs High (Grip You Hips and Move)" is a 1981 single by jazz trumpeter, Tom Browne. The single is from his third solo album, Magic. The vocals for the single were provided by Toni Smith, who also helped compose the song. The song hit #4 R&B. In 1995, French pianist Alex Bugnon covered the song from his album "Tales from the Bright Side." The song was sampled by rapper Coolio on his 1995 song "1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin' New)"
