Jellyfish - Russian Hill / Bedspring Kiss/ New Mistake

...

For me, Jellyfish were one of the bright spots of the grunge-dominated 90's Pop/Rock scene.....I wish they had caught on....

This is one group I totally missed out on when it was 91 and now I have to dig up their catalouge. Nice work pali, I'll take these for a spin. There were a few groups that if I had money I would have bought at the time like LIVE, The Ocean Blue , XTC , Love & Rockets and a bunch that were played on Mtv's 120 Minutes.

IMO, they were the precursor to The Spin Doctors and Blind Melon that got the glory for that stlye of music.

I remember getting their first album at the same time I got Fishbone's "Reality Of MY Surroundings" and King's X - Faith Hope Love--and I was thinking, "maybe this decade won't be so bad after all, lol , but of course, none of this shit caught on, lol

Yeah---- I wish they had gotten a fraction of the attention that those bands got....but then , I think XTC should have been one of the most popular bands of all time...I dunno.....

Word...Andy Partridge is THE MOST underrated songwriter in pop music. XTC was scary good.

I used to love Jellyfish. The're first two albums were great. I always thought they deserved more recognition.

I doubt it....Andy seems disillusioned with the business. I LOVED the last two albums they made without Dave.

I got to meet Andy when he did a promo tour for Apple Venus Volume 1. He came to a book store in Chicago and was quite friendly.
