That's pretty hot!
I actually read about that song in a bio on Waits, but had not heard it. Seems JB was one of his first influences after he saw him in concert as a kid--an influence that might not be quickly apparent.
But it got me noticing certain threads in his music, where the song overall might not sound like James Brown, but has a certain something that nods back to it.
Like these horns
or the Sex Machine hits after the second turnaround this one
