Brenda Russell - "Piano in the Dark" I remember hearing this song vividly when I was little and liked the melody.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

When I first heard this song as a kid, I thought it was Donna Summer. Donna had a hit around the same time this was out called "This Time I Know It's For Real" so I was like "aw shit Donna" until I saw the name of the artist.
A classic though and she was the original vocalist/songwriter behind "Get Here" and "If Only For One Night" too.

I love this by her. I also loved "So Good, So Right". I had no idea until recently it was actually her song.
Here's a link to it: http://www.youtube.com/wa...RkHAv9sn7o

Good song! She also did "Get Here" before Oleta Adams if I'm not mistaken.

Brenda needs to have an Unsung. She's been writing songs for peopel for years- including Earth, Wind & Fire.

whatever happened to her? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I think she was always more popular as a songwriter than an artist. I only have her greatest hits cd. I'm not really sure what she's up to. I see she has an active website.

I get her confused with Oleta Adams sometimes "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
