I've seen a laser turntable (not the one above) in the 1990's. It didn't play 7 inch records and the records had to be in perfect condition for it to work. Meaning few marks/scratches and no type of warping.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Okay, i see. I've not checked all the info on that ELP-link, so i'm not sure about the requirements of the vinyl condition and such. Maybe there's been more improvement since 1990. I found an overview of the formats which can be played on it though:

Standard LT Models Model Speed (rpm) Disc Size (inches) Price
LT-100STD LP, 45 7", 10", 12" US $8,100 / 5,670 €
LT-200STD LP, 45, 78 7", 10", 12" US $9,200 / 6,440 €
LT-300STD LP, 45, 78 7", 8", 9", 10", 11", 12" US $10,200 / 7,140 €

I heard they suck.. the scratching sounds digitally distorted. The Denon DN-S3700 and 5000, or The Pioneer 1000mk3 digital tables are better, with a more realistic scratch sound..
