The instrumentation on "Action Speaks Louder Than Words" is tight with those screamin' synths.

Mostly all of the production is pretty good. It's just the damn imitating that I find funny & sad. I wonder where this guy is now lol

LARC Records [distributed by MCA]. The label also released music by La Toya Jackson & had ties to none other than.......Joe Jackson. evillol

Lol, i posted about him a while ago: http://prince.org/msg/8/313763

In ^that post^ also about another act impersonating MJ:

On the back cover of ^this picture sleeve^ there's also a photo of the "New Guy" doing a classic MJ-dance pose.

He's still doing MJ-impersonations these days.

Tried to google Alfonso's recent whereabouts. Saw a few Facebook pages but not sure if he's actually on there. That last youtube-clip you posted is from his second album around 1988, and a ballad which is somewhat lesser in the MJ-mode imo. Furthermore i think that his voice just sounds like that naturally. At first, Larc obviously tried to jump on the MJ-bandwagon, but again, that last ballad was going in another direction although still in the soul-related area.

But Thriller's cover was similar to Teddy Pendergrass' 1981 LP. smile

I remember first hearing "Your Booty Makes Me Moody" in Pentitentiary II movie back in the early 80s, and thinking omg who the fuck is that. I never heard the whole song until that MJ clone thread that was already referenced.

Now tell me those BVGs at the 3:314 mark don't sound just like MJ! lol Those lead vocals, however... shake

I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

lol That particular song is a total rip-off of "Working Day & Night" & think about the fact that MJ would never sing such a stupid hook. I actually like the music [since it's obviously a rip-off too], but damn, the vocal are absolutely hilarious....even his little gibberish talking @ the beginning disbelief lol
