Zapp & Roger - More Bounce to the Ounce

Man, I would go crazy if this was played on the dance floor! How do five words shit over everything that came out in the last 20+ years? This song is my shit!

I'll never forget when I first bought this album. It had a sticker on the plastic that said "Includes More Bounce To The Ounce" and when I pulled the plastic off, the sticker fell off onto the floor. Somebody stuck that sticker on my ass and I walked around all day in public not knowing it was on there. lol

Andy is a four letter word.

Not many are aware of the fact that George Clinton and Bootsy produced this. George actually cut the tape, slowed it down, flipped it backwards and looped it to make it what we know and love today.

That is a rare fact. I remember when I read about it a couple years ago from what Shock G said about it.

I purchased this album within days of it's release in 1980, before anyone knew anything about "More Bounce To The Ounce", not to even mention who Roger Troutman was. Back then, I visited the record store twice a week (...like clockwork), so I know it hadn't been out more than a day or two. The first thing that caught my eye of course was the cover art, but then as I was reading the back cover, I saw written down in the bottom corner "Produced by Bootsy Collins", and that was it! I bought it on the spot without hearing the first note!

On my way home I KNEW I had some good new music. Had no idea what it was going to sound like, but I already knew it was gonna be good, lol. Man, when I got home and put the needle down on that first cut?!?!? eek I was like: I KNEW IT! That record was slammin! "More Bounce To The Ounce", and the rest is history!

You'll know what I mean when I tell you: They don't make records like THAT anymore (...that hit you like that the first moment you hear it).
