Imo, "You've Got A Friend" is one of MJ's best solo Motown songs, and "Chaos and Disorder" is in my top 10 all time favorite albums. "Hard Candy" isn't bad, either, and Janet's debut was much weaker than "Dream Street", so I disagree with most of your picks. Oh, and "Jughead" isn't even one of the worst songs on Diamonds and Pearls (I'd take it over Daddy Pop, Walk Don't Walk & Push), and far from being the worst Prince song (that would be "Rich Friends")

Anyway, some of my picks:

Stevie Wonder and Bob Dylan I can't do, because I don't know every album and song, but a lot of Stevie's early stuff is weak (except the hits); and the 70s and 80s saw a lot of mediocre (not terrible, though) Bob Dylan albums.

Yellow Submarine only has 4 new Beatles songs: All Together Now, Only A Northern Song, Hey Bulldog and It's All Too Much, the rest is old songs and George Martin music

I love both of the songs you mentioned, though I don't really consider "Revolution 9" a song, I still like it.

I don't really know, but I guess I'll give it another listen. I've just always found it boring, especially being over 7 minutes long. With all the other love songs on Emancipation, I don't see anything particularly outstanding about this song - lyrically, musically or vocally, and it's just very long and slow moving. I don't actually *hate* it, but it's probably my least listened to song on Emancipation (though Emancipation is my #1 favorite Prince album).

I just relistened to it, and it's not bad, but I don't really have any desire to listen to it again. Plus, there's just too many slow love songs on disc 2 of Emancipation.. after listening to "One Kiss At A Time", "Soul Sanctuary", "Curious Child", "Dreamin' About U", "The Holy River", "Let's Have A Baby", "Saviour" and "The Plan" (one of P's most boring instrumentals, imo), I'm too slow love song-ed out to sit through another, 7 minute long, slow love song.

Lyrically, I think this is the best love song on Emancipation. In fact...to me, this is his best love song. I've never heard him being more honest in any other song and I love how he's appreciating the woman in many different ways. I love the vocals as well, especially towards the end, how he sounds as if he's about to cry.

But I gotta admit, when I first listened to Emancipation, I'd already known the story between P, Mayte and Boy Gregory, so by the time "Let's Have A Baby" started to play, I was already shedding tears at the line 'What are we living for...' People say art is just art and we should be able to seperate it from the artist, but I think some songs become more meaningful or emotional once you know their personal life story..

At the end of the day though, I guess it's really up to personal taste

Ob-la-Di, Ob-la-Da ..... I loved this song as a child, but not now

.....and yes, I do not understand this common hatred of the Heal the world, too.
This song is obviously not a masterpiece, but it's good.
Simple and repetitive words are calculated to the fact that people of any age, nationality and language be able to repeat them, such nice uniting the world song
