Why does Madonna nearly always...

Use the single/radio edits for her music videos and often times, live performances? Other than with these exceptions:

Like A Prayer

Vogue

Erotica

Deeper And Deeper

Ray Of Light

Hung Up

Sorry

4 Minutes

Also:

Express Yourself

What It Feels Like For A Girl

^Both alternative versions/remixes

she changed up Music, Holiday, la isla bonita, Like A Virgin

live she changes up the arrangements

I think with the promoting tour for an album she stays closer to home to the song

Single/radio-edits have been common usage for videos in general. A buddy of mine has been taping music videos since the late-70's/early-80's and he noticed the similar time-sequences. Sometimes he mixed a clip with a better sound quality when editing.

Because she's smart. It's like Michael. Why release the long versions when the short versions will be played on radio anyway? Only people that play the longer, extended versions are deejays.

Michael pretty much never did the single versions, other than, Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, Rock With You (The other version is really hard to find), and Stranger In Moscow. In fact a lot of times the video versions were longer than the album versions.

I think she used the dance version of What It Feels like for a girl so she wouldn't have to mouth the song in the video

He had extended cuts though. We know Billie Jean was rather long.

She didnt have to mouth it anyway, someone on youtube mixed the original version and it went perfectly fine the way it was....still confused for that. More confused about that fail version of Celebration...I thought it was fake at first.

But it was cut for the album (not the single), same with Smooth Criminal as well as others. Prince often did the same thing I.E Raspberry Beret, Mountains, America
