I really dig the pre British Steel albums. British Steel and Screaming for Vengeance are great albums but once they hit on their formula with British Steel I think they lost some of the variety that made the early albums great. An album like Sin After Sin may not be a masterpiece but there are some interesting things going on there that they kind of lost on the later albums.

Not necessarily in this order but I think that these are their best albums:

Sad Wings of Destiny

Sin After Sin

Stained Class

Killing Machine

Some of the commercial/poppy stuff that they started doing in the early-mid eighties was really good and catchy but it just doesn't feel like Judas Priest to me.

Hey! A JP thread never thought i'd see it lol

It's a tough one but it's between Sad Wings Of Destiny & Painkiller

Which is weird these albums are polar opposites, Sad Wings has a more bluesy down home rock sound, where Painkiller is kickass in your face thrash.

my favorites

Sad Wings Of Destiny

Painkiller

Defenders Of The Faith

Hell Bent For Leather/Killing Machine whatever they call it lol

Stained Glass

Favorite Songs

Genocide

Screaming For Vengence

Trouble shooter

Eat Me Alive

Leather Rebel

Delivering The Goods

Exciter

Out In The Cold[Yes that dreaded Turbo album had a good song on it!]

Hellrider

Turbo isn't as awful as some say but it was a brief downfall for them, and Locked In is such a bad song lol the lyrics & the video oh sweet lord the video is so damn bad i can never forgive them for that lol.

But Turbo Lover, Out In The Cold & Private Property jam to me... Parental Guidance seemed like it was trying to hard to be one of the 80's anthems.

Ram It Down is a disliked album but i think it rocked pretty hard on some tracks

Ram it down, Heavy Metal, Hard As Iron & Love Zone are great tunes.
