Hell Yeah: New Minneapolis Funk from BSLADE and other Purple Treasures ...
This Christmas turned to Purple when I downloaded the new album from BSLADE - STEALTH, this is anything else but a silent release, a lot of Minneapolis Funk on here plus some breathtaking ballads. A welcome addition to everybodies favorite album of the year: DIESEL. Thank you BSlade for blessing us with so much wonderful music in 2011!
By chance, I would like to put in some more new Funk for those of u who can never get enough of that Purple stuff ..
BIRDORVIN MURRAY - Crucifix (good old fashioned Minneapolis Music in the style of a BOB George and Camille ...)
MAC MULINSH - Pip Hop The Volume (Like George Clinton & Prince jamming together in French)
MORLOCK - Where Do U Get Ur Funk From (the title says it all!)
JOEY'O - Love n Hate (no funk but this guy sings almost like P himself when he hits the falsetto)
Feel free to add your discoveries here et Bonne Année!

Thanks, efantmilieu. I'll definitely be checking out BSLADE and the others as well. Keep us hip to the Purplemusic and bonne année et bonne santé à toi aussi. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

B. Slade sounds really good! I may download his jamz. Also Birdorvin Murray. His stuff sounds a bit 90s though but I think I would like to give it a try. I'll have to see about the others too.

Well, I follow Tonex since 'Pronounced Toe-Nay' and I think he's getting better with each album. I even consider DIESEL as a musical milestone with as much impact on me as Control, Rhythm Nation 1814, 1999, SOTT etc. ... Eventho it seems his commercial success is fading which I consider as a result of his openness (fatal in the Gospel market) ...
STEALTH is growing on me instantly and I would like to recommand it to everybody who's into solid R&B with hints of Minneapolis Funk done in an overall creative/fresh manner ... Highly enjoyable!

regarding Birdorvin Murray, yes, very 90's ... But I have fun jamming to it, esspecially Sex Or Love with its deep kind of Bob George like vocals and Watch It incorporating these descent Prince drum machine knocking sound ...

I wish 20Ten and MPLSound sounded a bit like these. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
