I love this song..specially the international slow mix (i think that's the name)...unfortunatly I never had the chance 2 get it in a high quality file...only found it in 256kbps mp3 that doesn't sound quite good...iTunes store opened in Brazil this week and this was one of the first singles I've looked 4...but no luck...

It's alright. But pretty much a waste of time as a single and on a greatest hits record. I like it but it sounds very much like the afterthought it was.

But still better than the post-DOAD orgamsic ballads that were to follow.

Tres' sexy.

Upon watching this music video the very first time, I was ready to bend her over the nearest couch.

Beautiful. One of her many great ballads. She sounds great too. Soft, feminine and melodic.

The pre-chorus and bridge are gorgeous.

And yeah, that remix was/is hot too! cool

Question: Was this video her throwing her hat in the ring to play Dorothy Dandridge or was it a tribute?

Hahaha I used to have the Design booklet. lol Stokley definitely did play drums on it. nod

@Musicslave, I don't know if you had a problem playing it or what, but the version I posted was the album version. The version that was released was remixed...

Ahh, I see said the blind man. I think the only version I've heard was the one released as the single/video. That would explain it.

Thanks!

Ahh, I see said the blind man. I think the only version I've heard was the one released as the single/video and the "Slow Jam International Remix". That would explain it. If you listen to the three versions posted here they're all different.

Thanks!

Yep! biggrin

We have to remember back in the '90s, R&B knew how to do remixes. Janet wasn't the only one either (Mary J., Mariah, R. Kelly, etc.) They all produced remixes that sometimes were better than the album version. In the case of Janet's though, her album original is actually better to me. I love the intro. music And I love how it was all so soft and soulful then turned into some funk romp in the middle after thunder started rolling. That blew my mind! lol Jimmy and Terry were some fucking geniuses! nod And of course Janet's harmony vocals are a beast... music

Yeah I see I missed out on that original version. Kind of reminds me of Minnie Riperton's "Loving You" a little bit with the birds chirping and shit. The keys are more prominent in the original mix. Sounds like a Korg or Rhodes. The original sounds more organic. People always sleep on Janet vocals man. Her harmonies are to die for. While they're sleeping, I'll enjoy them. She's no belter but she got that "Sweet" Jackson tone that's pretty.

Both but Halle eventually went on to portray her. Janet wanted to portray her in a movie.

Such a sexy song!

One of Janet's best. The video is great as well. I loved the homage to Dorothy Dandrige. Janet looked stunning in it.

I love this song. I just wish it was two seperate songs. The slower sexier bit, and the faster R&B song.
