She may pull through. There is still hope. Zsa Zsa Gabor's doc said many times that she was on her death bed but she held on.

Difference is Zsa Zsa got sick almost immediately. Etta's was more gradual.

There was a radio show in LA that used to air and one of the hosts came into the studio in shock sharing how Etta felated the microphone and simulated masturbated on stage. This was like 3 years ago!

RIVERSIDE, California (AP) — Etta James' longtime manager says the terminally ill blues singer has been hospitalized after experiencing difficulty breathing.

Lupe De Leon says James' family is with her at a Southern California hospital where she was taken earlier this week.

De Leon, who has been James' manager for 30 years, says the singer is "in pretty bad shape" but it remains unknown whether she will be able to be released. He says James was taken to the hospital on Wednesday evening and is on a breathing apparatus.

James' doctor recently announced that the "At Last" singer has been diagnosed with terminal leukemia. The Grammy-winner and Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame member is also suffering from dementia. She has been receiving mostly at-home care.

A judge on Monday set aside $350,000 for James' treatment.

Actually, when this happened, it was already made public she was in the hospital and what she was in the hospital for and my friend actually had to report the incident to the hospital. She was very upset about it and told me what happened in terms of what was said to her. She didn't devulge anything personal to me like why she there (which was already reported by the newspaper) or what procedures were being done, so she was not in the wrong. She didn't violate HIPAA

Oh, and while your bullslhittin' apparantly that is very much that woman's character based on what people who have interacted with her have said

and another thing... why would you come on a thread asking for prayers for a sick woman and asking for good will/ good vibes for her and post something defamatory about her???

Why? Do you have nothing better to do then talk negatively about a gravely ill woman while she is in the hospital on death bed?

Even if it is true, so what?? A professional would know that gravely ill people can experience dementia and say all kinds of things to people that are mean, and even racist. And most PROFESSIONAL people have a little chuckle about it... or ignore it and keep it moving.

The fact that your friend went around running her mouth about PRIVATE events says a lot about her.

You know something... when people pass away or have a serious illness, to the hospital personel, it is just one of many... a part of work. Maybe you will remember it... maybe not. But to the patient and/or family... they remember that stuff FOREVER.

It becomes part of their family history... in fact YOU become part of their family history. How you treat that patient is how you will be remembered FOREVER to that family when Dad died, Or grandma passed away.

Tell your friend to be mindful of that.

I had a woman who *I* did not know, recognize me at the furniture store and remembered that I took care of her husband when he was dying. She grabbed my hand and broke down in tears thanking me for being so kind to her, and taking so good of her husband. The woman actually owned the furniture store and all of her employees came around and thanked me and looked at me like I was some rock star.

I was embarrassed.... and I surely didn't remember her and barely remembered her husband. but she definitely remembered me.

What was especially embarrassing was that she gave me a genereous discount on my purchase. I told her she didn't need to, I was just doing my job but she did.... and I sure did appreciate that.

My point is.... I have had mean patients as well who kicked and called me the n word, c word, slave, animal, h word... I treat those patients the same as the nice ones... I don't FUCKING judge them... and I don't blab about it.

I had wives, husbands and children ask me to please forgive the sick one's bad behavior because it is not their character. They don't have to tell me that. as a professional... I already know.

many very sick or dying patients enter states of delirium and dementia, what they say can be very shocking. however i agree w/prodigalfin's words, "your friend would be FIRED, if the hospital administration knew this info was revealed. (and imo should be held accoutable)

in addition, a person who gossip mongers about one about to either pass on or be taken off life support, should be a lot more sensitive in passing on (less than) credible information to the public.

She has dementia and I that usually starts slowly and takes a few years to take hold.

Maybe you should reread what I wrote. No one was using specific events or places, or a timeframe of when this happened (which was not recent) and I didn't get into specifics on what exactly happened and what exactly was said. Anyone one who follows this person knows about her language, so there was nothing privately revealed here. My friend did not go running her mouth or blabbing about it. You do not know the whole story and won't for that matter. My friend was not passing judgement, but for me to continue will be giving too much. I do know generally speaking that not ALL patient behavior is acceptable. I'm sure you're great at what you do, but don't assume my friend is not great at what she does. You're passing a lot of judgement here

As for nothing better to do, I don't see jumping on whoever said what about her nasty comments about Beyonce, but I guess that's ok

Didn't Etta's son say her Beyonce outburst was due to dementia? I believe so. Not like it excuses it but also I don't think it's reveal all in jump street unless they were that nasty without being so ill.

Good news: Etta James has been put off the respirator and is breathing on her own.

She's still not out of the clear though but at least she's cheated death for now...
