I know. It was also a greatest hits tour or something.. so that explains it all.

Janet averages about 400k per venue according to pollstar ...she has had 80 dates so that should be close to 40mill..but most of her boxscores have not been reported to billboard yet hense her exclusion from the list

Are the tour expenses already subtracted out of these final grosses? Making $100 million on a tour is great and all but does it really matter when it costs $50 million dollars to actually make the show happen before you pay your taxes? If these numbers are after production costs, than GOOD LAWD THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY!!!
Janet and Adele probably are in the 26 to 30 area...at least I hope so because despite small venues for Janet and cancelling shows for Adele, both of their tours did have quite a nice amount of sold out dates from what I heard.

Reciepts are reported by venues to the jurisdiction authority and insurance controller and are thus public information. No one reports to Billboard. They get the info from public records. She is excluded from the list because she did not have a top 25 highest grossing tour of 20011 (worldwide).

WRong....she was excluded because the venues have not reported her dates yet..some are still trickling in 9months late..

Yeah ok. In whatever world/dimension that you live in where Janet Jackson is playing secret venues that don't report her gate, while reporting EVERYONE else, that works. Meanwhile in the real world she did not have one of the top 25 grossing tours of 2011. As a matter of FACT she is not one of the top grossing FEMALE artist according to FORBES. We are entitled to our opinions, (she is a great performer), but not entitled to our own facts, (she does not appear on any top whatever list).

Wow, huge figures for Take That with only 29 dates. Tickets for that show were like gold dust. Plus they beat MJ's record at Wembley Stadium with 8 nights... But I like to think that MJ would have done more at the time but Wembley had filled their music quota in 1988 and genuinely couldn't add more as they had to make way for the football season [Edited 12/16/11 22:45pm]

I love how people claim billboard is shit in one thread and go off on how charts, polls, reviews dont matter, then post bout how their favorite "singer" didn't make a billboard list and cry bout it.

Only some Prince shows were reported to Billboards Box Score...The first ones in the NYC area, oakland etc...for instance all off the european shows and the 21 nights in Los Angeles were not reported to the Boxscore... All in all Prince maybe at around 1,2 Million visitors together with all his concerts in The US, Canada, Europe....
