==========

While the US is the world’s largest music market, it doesn’t mean acts from the “outside” can’t bring it to the bank as well. Case in point, Kylie Minogue is an act whose main success is vested outside the US and yet she still made the list. It was also surprising to see an artist like Usher‘s place so high. Despite his chart success, his fans still poured out to see him live.

I'd figure it would be Hotel California, not one of their newer songs.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I find it interesting how few shows that were in the top 25 actually sold out. I didn't expect Janet to make it due to the smaller venues.

Prince's tour wasn't massive, Janet made money in smaller venues. Both tours were short compared to the tours on the list. Why would they be on the list at all?

^ Still don't matter. Lots of other artists on the list made stadiums and arenas their main places. Janet didn't.

I think they base the list from the information that artists choose to send to Billboard during the year sso I think that's why we don't see so many of the tours you guys are mentioning.

Yes but this is the TOP 25 highest grossing of 2011. Janet may have had a great year but she still may've come short of making the Top 25. Do we have official figures for Janet? Did she gross over the $27 million and some change that Toby Keith grossed? If not then there is no reason for her to be on this particular list.

Not as bad as the audiences feel having to watch her aimlessly wander around the stage with her forced sexiness. The girl has got style I'll give her that but a charasmatic performer she is not and just think, this is the peak of her career right now. It's like the "Mariah syndrome", they get/got hit after hit after hit, breaking records on the singles charts yet when it comes time to tour nobody seems to care. No wonder she puts out an album every six months, she's trying to milk this money/fame train while she can. When the hits stop she is toast! Unlike some veteran acts on that list she won't have touring to fall back on when the hits start becoming more sporadic.
