Oh...and Rakim is the quintessential emcee of today's real rhyme sayers (the ones that's left anyway). Eminem, Nas, all of them owe a little something to the R. Whether directly or indirectly through their favorite rapper being influenced by his various styles.

I think Eric B and Rakim didn't get in because as influential as they were, they did have huge pop hits like the Beasties. I'm afraid that when it comes to rap artists, the bigoted folks in Cleveland won't induct another rap artist until Eminem comes up for induction. I'm not watching the ceremony. Props to Red Hot Chilli Peppers for getting in but it stops with them.

Yeah, I know. I think they're biggest hit to crossover was probably "Don't Sweat The Technique." And that probably didn't chart well either so.....
