Soul Train now airs on BounceTV!

There is a new netwrk for African Americanc called "Bounce TV" that just debutd a while back. So far, the only show hey have is Soul Train.

But, it got of to a good start, cause they shows an episode not included with the bunch from Centric and the CW/WGN a few years back.

Bounce TV is a new over-the-air broadcast network for African Americans which is mostly being broadcast on the sub-digital channels of the primary network affiliates. Here's the webpage to see if Bounce TV is located in your area.

Plus, they show it about two or three times a day and each time, it is a different episode. Unfortunately, my damn DVD recorder died on me and I've had to record it with a VCR. It comes on at strange times of the day though such as 6:00 a.m. (while I'm getting ready for work) and 5:00 p.m. (I'm just getting off work at that time and driving home). That means having to set the VCR and record which means the commercials are on the tape, which I hate.

Dammitt, I wish I had money to buy a new DVD recorder so I could record all these tapes onto DVDs and cut out the commercials. lol

It's on the converter box that those of us with old TVs who don't have cable were forced to buy when the digital takeover took place a few years ago. lol The converter box has channels that weren't on cable when I previously had it before I moved last year.

It's not nationwide yet. They are testing it first in certain areas, mainly The South (they know where us broke whores are that can't afford cable lol ). I just hope they don't make it a cable channel once it catches on.

thank you for the 411. You know, I hope it stays on free TV, not everything
needs to go to cable.

Exactly. And even if I could afford cable (which I can't), I refuse to pay one cent for 100 channels of reality TV. lol

I've been watching it. Love the old episodes, just wish BounceTV would list which ST episodes its airs. Most of them seem to be mid-70s shows, fro which are good. But I'm more partial to the late 70s/early 80s eps.

I do get a kick out of seeing a young Jody Watley & Jeffery Daniel dancing up a storm, pre-Shalamar.

Hey...

Y'll missed a HOT one this morning. From 1979, Rick James and Teena Marie on the same show. Rick performed "Fool On The Street" and "Love Gun". Teena performed "Don't Look Back". Rick and Teena performed "Sucker For Your Love" together. Miss Bobcat did another dance routine with his ballet leaps and twirls looking like Gene Anthony Ray. lol

Keep 'em coming!

Maybe it'll be on cable TV soon... Logo was on local TV stations for a hot minute until two years ago. Same with OWN if I'm not mistaken. So it'll probably be soon carried in major markets. smile

Was it still on free TV after cable got it? If not, then cable needs to stay the fuck away from Bounce. lol
