GLEE covering Janet's "Control" In an upcoming episode. Kurt does the opening spoken word, and Blaine and Artie are singing. LOVE the arrangement on this.

Thats Quinn not Kirk who is doing the opening monologue.
Control by Janet Jackson is a song that will be featured in Episode 8, called Hold On To Sixteen. It is going to be sung by New Directions for their Sectionals Performance, as part of the Jackson medley. Quinn opens the number, and Artie and Blaine sing lead [Edited 11/26/11 10:10am] Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. It sounds like Madonna . I guess that's what "Control" would sound like if Madge ever covered it. You're right, it's Quinn doing the opening spoken word.

ABC/Control/Man in the Mirror is a medley that is to be performed by New Directions for Sectionals in episode 8 of Season Three, Hold on to Sixteen.
The medley (the arrangement hasn't been confirmed) will go for 7 minutes. Tina is singing lead to ABC, along with Mike and Kurt. Artie and Blaine sing lead to Control, which Quinn sings the opening. Finn, Puck, Sam and Blaine sing the leads during Man in the Mirror Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. I stay away from them like the plague. I never press play. When they did the MJ and Prince covers, my tv always skipped over the FOX channel.

While I'm really glad they're finally covering Janet, they really managed to suck the energy out of Control. It picked up a little halfway through, but seemed to drag again by the end. I did like Glee in the beginning, but the more I see of it, the less I like it. And I see all of your creations as one perfect complex

I tried to get into it two years ago. It's just not for me. And I agree they suck the energy out of anything they cover. I'll cringe if they cover Marvin. I don't care how they use it but they will fuck it up. I didn't even hear that sister doing Aretha. And don't cover any glam rock tunes or I'll blow glitter in their eyes.

Funny you should say that....I'm listening to Trouble Man right now. And the thought of them touching him hurts my soul. And I see all of your creations as one perfect complex

Yeah, I would feel some type of way if they do cover him... Or David Bowie. Or even Stevie. Ugh, I know they'll use all three in some form or another. That's scary to me.

My god, Im far from a janet fan, but jesus that's one of the worse things I've heard from gLee. The show pretty much sucks these days its basically the Blaine n Leah show which is a shame cause the first half of the first season was really good. Now its just a joke. I don't have a problem with choirs covering varies tunes, some of my youtube favorites are different choirs doing covers. I just think that the cast of Glee is terrible at it.

I actually like hearing it from a male's persepective. It's also a sign that Blaine is telling his non-supportive family to go take a hike. "Get up off that grey line"

I had high hopes for this show for some reason. I think i was under the impression it was going to be this generation's Fame... with original music... oh well, but that's a different thread 12/05/2011

Same. I thought it would be a good show too. I didn't expect it to be so bad, corny, and needlessly offensive.
