^^^^^Thanks for posting before SaltNPepa she was my favorite rapper back in the day cant believe she was only 14 at the time. I remember hearing this for the time on the radio it generated so much attention that it completely overshadowed UTFO's 'Roxanne Roxanne'. At the time there was a real Roxanne the guys were raqpping about but it wasnt about Roxanne Shante. She never met those guys.

Apparently the shit started because UTFO didn't show up at some gig hosted by Mr. Magic, who was friends with Marley Marl. Marley was so upset by this he got Roxanne, who was just a neighbor, to rap on the track... it did overshadow "Roxanne Roxanne". I haven't been able to listen to their song since hearing "Roxanne's Revenge". It took the air out of UTFO...

It did take the air out of UTFO big time! this is a classic track Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Yes the ORIGINAL version of this song. The remake is fine, but this one is the one that REALLY takes me back, as it got airplay here in Detroit for a hot minute before the remake came out. Keep your headphones on.

I liked both DJs, I listened to both of them back in the day. I remember Fridays having my tape cassette ready to press record when Roxanne Revenge came on the radio. By the way I met Roxanne 'Shante' nice lady she looks and sounds the same 25 years later.

Love Roxanne Shante. Especially 'Bite This!'. Does she still gig?
