Was in touch with one of Maxi B's people and yes they're trying to get them together to do one . However lead singer JoJo is so bitter from not getting some huge royalty check that the other girls received recently , and haven't been participating in any of thier reunions etc. She have taken her one woman show on the road.

All of these sound like good episodes... especially Ray's. I had no idea he wrote "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" and then was cut out of the credits. OUCH! But I guess that's no surprise.

Yeah, that's a shocker! eek I remember that song was HUGE in 1976! I wanna know how and why they didn't give the credit he deserved.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

The Commodores definitely deserve one. They had crossover success, but it took years to get there. I would love to hear the story from the original member's point of view, including Tom Joyner.

The original Commodores have totally been forgotten about in the bigger scheme of things and Lionel's own career isn't as noted as Michael's or Prince's so in a way yeah they're unsung alright.

As a young man he sang with the Commodores but left before the group became successful.

Also looking forward to Millie Jackson's ep. Since we're tossing out possible selections for future segments, how about ones for the Whispers, Yarbrough & Peoples and Change? In the case of the Whispers, they're probably only remembered for "Rock Steady", but had already been around for like 20+ years before then. As for Change, Luther Vandross is without a doubt their best known member, but the group continued to have hits after he left. "Change of Heart" (produced by Jam & Lewis) was their biggest one. According one of the members in cd liner note, Jam & Lewis were somehow not paid for that. I'm also pretty sure that one of the members (Timmy Allen) even worked with Millie Jackson after the group disbanded.

You took the words right out of my mouth. lol I was hoping they do an Unsung & Uncensored version for Ms. Millie. lol

He daughter (Keisha Jackson) stay working as a background vocalist. I always see her in the background singing with somebody. She appears to be a regular for Ms. Badu..

Didn't Yarborough and Peoples have ONE hit?

Don't Stop The Music- #1 R&B, # 19 Pop

Heartbeats # 10 R&B, # 101 Pop

Feel So Good # 20 R&B

Don't Wast Your Time #1 R&B, # 48 Pop

Be A Winner #20 R&B

Guilty #2 R&B

I Wouldn't Lie #6 R&B, #93 Pop

Wrapped Around Your Finger #46 R&B

Alisa Peoples mentions in their greatest hits cd that the group was undergoing some changes personal and business as a result of their success, but never specified what they were. An Unsung ep might the perfect forum for them to tell what they were going through at the time.

^ I admire the fact that despite the shit they went through in the industry that it never affected their personal relationship. They're still married to this day... I forgot how many years but it looks like 25 years.

I have that Be A Winner album. Didn't know that Don't Waste Your Time went

number one or Guilty went number two. I had Guilty on 45 but i think i accidentally

broke it. They would be perfect for Unsung. Weren't they under the Total Experience

umbrella with the Gap Band and Robert Goodie Whitfield?

Yep they were. They managed to get a tape to Charlie Wilson (whom Cavin Yarbrough had met before) who in turn passed it along to Lonnie Simmons, head of Total Experience Records. According to a site (can't remember which one) the Guilty album is slated to be remastered and re-released with bonus tracks early next year.

...LOL....I know that's right....Sheila Always get High Profile Gigs."The View" did the SAME thing to Chaka Khan a few months ago when they featured her on their "80's Where are they now?" segment....I was like "Are you serious?"...

Chaka's been putting out Chart Toping Albums & Singles and winning Grammys in the last 10yrs...

I wonder if "Unsung" ever approched Stephanie Mills, Mary Wilson & Al B. Sure?

I don't see how Mary's qualified for one. She ain't "unsung" as far as her contributions to music... Al's this show's narrator (or was, I don't know) so I don't know if that'll work. Stephanie Mills needs one.
